It's spending 24 hours at the dealer. In the morning they are trying to reproduce the A8 shudder.

It's funny how Chevy claims they are more reliable than the Japanese brands. I have frequented forums on both sides and the serious issues GMs have far outweigh the stuff Honda has. Seems like every new GM  model comes equipped with a time bomb fatal flaw in one trim or another.  Honda hasn't had a widespread disaster in decades, but GM has the Chevy shake, the A8 shudder, Corvettes with driveline balance and overheating issues, AFM failures.

Honda has some trouble with a CR-V engine right now, and some common things but don't spread across multiple product lines.

I wonder if the new ATF fluid that just came out here in January will fix your shudder like in the trucks.  I would think so.  It is an easy fix for sure.

They pissed away our bailout money, and don't want investors to know the truth about just how far in the toilet they really are. Their product quality reflects this GLARINGLY ...

It's a shame because it is so fun to drive. That new Supra is coming out. 335HP, and 50k. Overpriced and underpowered, but I bet the build quality will be ridiculously better.

I was just at the Honda dealership getting the wife’s Intagra type Rs yearly serviced. The new civic type r was there. For being almost 20 years later and the additional equipment,2 more doors, not to mention 100 more hp for just 10K more. Impressive. I couldn’t say the same in comparison between the Impala ss and Chevy ss.

No doubt, I think it was Camaro6 where someone laid out prices vs inflation, the American Muscle/sports cars have ballooned too much.  A loaded Camaro SS should cost around 30k. (1969 $4k =2018 $28k)

The ZL1 is actually about right though, that option cost well more than car did back then at some of the dealers.

I probably would have paid 40K for the Chevy SS. We already had the Genesis that was just a tick slower and was more loaded than the SS. It was a CPO for 31K with 10 years 100K warranty. I was a large Chevy sedan car nut and would have traded in a Heartbeat, but the money they wanted for the SS couldn’t do it. They wanted Cadillac money.

Near the end there were some screaming deals, I remember Ryan posting one in the rare metallic dark green(was the rarest color I think) in the 30s.  I was figuring out if I could get up to it and drive back in time. Then I went looking for Camaro's brought home something else. I tell my wife I found a car and she knows it won't be what I bring home.

69 Camaro became a 67 Firebird

2nd or 3rd gen F body became a 4th gen.

A used 1SS Camaro convertible became a new 2SS coupe.

I was looking at trucks and a WRX when I ended up with the Mazda6 in 2008.

I’m going on 45 years married. Early on my wife viewed cars as just transportation. I had to drive trucks for my business. Lucky for me early on before I could have my own toy she would drive cars that were fun to drive. Novas, Chevelles, 442s, mustangs and mostly impalas. She became an enthusiast but liked the smaller more sports car nut. Mazda 3, Acura intagra type r that I enjoyed too. Sometimes we would pick one we both like knowing she would keep it till it was paid for and it would become a toy. 94 impala ss, Z28, Acura intagra type R. The Genesis she has now was bought because it was a deal. We saw it when I was truck buying. It checked all the boxes an is becoming one of the ones that been around awhile. My toy now is a truck, no more big Chevy Impalas to play with. With a magazine like LMC truck it real easy to keep it looking good. Most importantly my favorite engine of all time the small block Chevy.

I put that Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic( a real Si02) spray on the Camaro a while back. Just found this fresh test of it and Mother's ceramic spray.

The Meguiars is $15 for a bottle that will cover for 5 midsize cars. The guy in the video polishes and compounds and can't get the stuff off. So basically....it's a real coating that just won't last the 5 years the really expensive stuff does. But at a couple minutes to apply, who cares? The future of paint care is here. I think I'll stick with the Meguiar's since it has no cure time and they encourage you to get it wet. You could actually apply this stuff in the rain.

Didn't know this was an option yet! I'll get a bottle and try it out. Spay on is just to easy compared to my normal process of waxing. Thankx for the tip.

Rub it in while the car is wet the first time. If you want extra (or the next) coat you can spray and rinse, Meguiar's says the stronger the stream the better, pressure rinse is best.

So I was looking at my options for Tracwrap for vacation. Then I watched today's Grand Tour, got a bad idea. Then I got on Craigslist out of curiosity, and found this.

The revised 320HP Northstar with VVT,  heated and cooled seats, all wheel drive, adaptive cruise control.

That is a cool car, I remember the first time I rebuilt a North star engine. I thought it was so advanced and awesome. Still a fun car to drive around and you get a lot of accessories for the price. You have me thinking that that car would be a good track car if gutted. Hmmm

Too much work to track, found an old review of them, cadillac our a ton of sound deadening everywhere to get it quiet Enough to compete with the Germans.

And the struts cost $400 each, so I'm not interested in that money hole. Might run by this we kend when they are closed to see if I can read the strut label. Replacements would be marked by BWI
