Weatherbeaters have the hole cutouts for the floor posts. I've read some complaints that water/snow/salt can get through those holes and then you have spend more time and effort to clean the carpet. The X-act's do not appear to have those holes, just like the Weathertechs don't have the holes either, they just sit on top of the floor posts.

The Weatherbeaters use the exact type of attachment to the posts that the OEM mats use.

 

While I guess it could be possible, they have a ring around the attachment points that serves as a dam to prevent that from happening. Zoom in on the pic above.

 

With that said, I live in Michigan, the state that uses more salt per lane mile than any other state, by a wide margin. I never had a drop of slush/snow/water/salt get through at the post attachments, and we had the worst winter last year that we have had in 30-40 years.

 

The X-act look slightly nicer, but the Weatherbeaters provide more coverage. The X-act does not have a full back liner or the front hump liner like the Weatherbeaters. Both fit excellent in 2014+ 1500's.

This was exactly my thinking, (no pun intended) I think the X-act fit Huskys look a little better than the Weatherbeaters, (That's if you're having a beauty contest for floor mats) but you do sacrifice a little coverage for that look.

 

I live in Southern Ontario Canada, where we also get a lot of salting on our roads in the winter, but being retired, and not really using my truck daily, I felt the X-act fit line would work OK for me.

When I purchased my 2014 Denali, I requested Weathertechs as part of the package. As mentioned earlier, there must have been a redesign because the first set did not fit and they had the carpet screws which thankfully I did not install. I went back to the accessories dealer and they replaced it with a proper fitting pair which has the ring with the Velcro fasteners. The rear floorliner fits perfectly and pretty well covers the entire floor area. It was a bit tight as I also have the underseat storage and the floorliner has to tuck in under the plastic bin.

 

I do have a problem with the front floorliner as it catches on the driver seat when you move the seat back and forth and the seat rips the floorliner off the fasteners. I contacted Weathertech about the curl of the mat and they told me to turn the mat inside out and let it sit like that for 24 hrs. It hasn't really helped so I just have to remember to push the mat down when I move the seat. It has been about four months now and it still happens.

I bought the laser cut michelin floor mats online from costco.com. They are perfect. Worth the money and a tad cheaper than WT. Highly recommended!

I bought a couple of rubber plugs to solve this issue. I pushed these up from the bottom, but I think a plug pushed in from the top would work better.

For those of you with the WT mats that have a curled edge, would taking a heat gun to the mat to reshape it work?

Here is another company I have no experience with, that offers a lower cost full rear alternative, only in black. They have a Lifetime Warranty, but I suspect they may not be Made In USA like Husky and WeatherTech??? Could be wrong? It does look like they have the fit right by looking at the pictures. The front more so than the back.

I've got those MaxLiners in my wife's 2013 Tahoe, bought them based on price without ever seeing a set. They're definitely a great fit, more of a plastic than rubber though compared to the WeatherTechs in my Duramax.

Being more "plastic" they tend to be a little slippery, but I don't mind it because it makes them easier to clean. Fit is much tighter than the WT as well, no curling with the MaxLiners!

Recommended them to a friend that's only ever owned WT. He put them in his wife's new Acura MDX and claims that he'll never buy WT again.

 

This time around I thought I'd try something different, went with the MAXpider 3D (same as Aries). I got them for a great price through my dealer and I think the weave pattern will compliment the All-Terrains carbon fiber looking interior.

I'll report back once I take delivery of my truck, should be before this weekend.

If I recall they were $150-160 for the front and rear set. I'll get pics once I pick up the truck later this week.
