Cant you just go to that dealership and buy it from them? I do not mind the headlights, the only weird thing is the distinct line that is at the top of them due to the LEDs...

what are you guys actually talking about with the chevy vs. gmc headlights.

 

the SLT and LTZ both have the same bulb, just different shaped housings.

the SLE also has the projector headlights.

the LT has regular bulbs.

 

so what exactly is the issue comparing the two? thanks

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately the deal still hasn't been made. The dealer my salesman is trying to work with doesn't really want to let it go. The A/T Sierras with the 6.2 are amazingly hard to find!

 

Sweet setup for sure, just got mine, the headlight are not great in the rain n rolling hills, with that said seems some adjustments can be made, I knew about them and still bought it, I'm very pleased so far, wish I could have afforded a 6.2 a/t

They only make a couple thousand of the AT package trucks each year. It is a niche model for GMC.

I would love to see actual production numbers for the AT package. I think it is more than just a couple thousand. I have one, a neighbor has one and they were all over the dealer lots and websites when I was searching for a truck.There is nothing special about it. It is just an option package.

I didn't know the 8 speed came in anything but a denali? and also unless the interior is a must have on an all terrain, you can have the bumpers and everything painted for a fraction of the price and put clear bra film on it to prevent chipping. My salesman has an all-terrain and after I brought mine in for the first oil change he said he would have wished he would have just got an SLT, or SLE and did what i did to save a ton of money

The Chevy SLT has 4 headlights, the GMC only has 2. There is a shutter on the GMC projectors that constricts lighting severely on rural roads, in rolling terrain, and especially so in the rain. The Chevy LT also has 4 headlights, but probably the best of all of them?

 

Had I known about these lights prior, or had I test driven the truck at night, I would more than likely went with the Chevy, or Ford, or Ram. Ugh!

 

I live in a very rural area. The guys that say they are not that bad, obviously never get outta town.

for 1500 pickups:

2014 6.2's were 6 speed.

2015 6.2's are 8 speed.

6.2 is available in slt or denali, but not in sle/sierra

 

There is also a code (PDY) to put chrome bumpers on an All Terrain.

Envious of the AT with 6.2, that will be sweet. I bought mine in the summer of 14 so pickings were slim; I ended up with an SLE. I drove several Silverados and Sierras at night and didn't notice the difference in headlights. The dealer installed my lift but didn't do the headlights, so I ended up aiming them myself and am pretty happy with the results. Good luck with yours.

Yes the Chevys have 4 but only two are running normal lights. The other two are for brights. So can't really compare that.

Yep the shutter pops up, so they suck just like the dims. They are ok directly in front, but don't expect to see beyond the shoulder or ditch. So the only thing changing is a mechanical shutter, still only the same two headlights. Do not all 4 lights light up on the Silverado when on brights? I think so.

 

Are the dim projectors shuttered in the Silverado?
