I got it from work

Posted

I just got my can installed ... went in real easy .. no leaks .. I used 3/8 fuel injection hose for the connects.

Also ran a can of CRC intake valve cleaner through the motor before I installed the can. I figured why put the can on with cruddy valves .... hopefully they will stay clean ..

Ebay selling these for $89.99. There is also a version 2. Are these knock-offs?

Absolutely not. Very high quality. Do not get the version 2. That is a vented version. Get version 1, it is a close loop system, just like how it is stock. Do not want extra air entering the engine that the fuel mapping isn't calling for

Thanks.

This is after 800 miles installed with media in the filter part:

That picture was taken yesterday morning. Shows you just what is going through your engine

NO! NO! Version 2 has the OPTION of having a breather. You don't have to install the breather and they give you a nice O ringed plug if you decide to keep your system closed. If you can find version 2 as cheap as version 1 go for it. The outlets on the version 2

more horizontal than the original ADD cans and I think more horizontal than version 1 which makes them fit our trucks a little better. It's splitting hairs either way. Any ADD can will work quite well.

On Ebay both are priced the same. I already ordered version 1. I am sure either will work equally fine.

To those of you that have a sucking sound on your ADD can.

1. Add O-ring to the dip-stick

2. Wrap the fittings on the can with Oil-resistant Teflon tape

3. Add HVAC grease to the threads of the can to improve the seal

I have absolutely no noise from the cans on my vehicles or on my son's F150

Hi BD I had the sucking sound on mine you could hear it when you got out of the cab. Everything was tight on my system. I finally found that it was coming from the hoses. You could look at the hose and see it was trying to suck it to it was out of round. The hose was pcv hose I tried a different brand did the same thing. I looked at trans oil cooler hose but was just as soft as the pcv hose. I went with hydraulic hose I knew it was no why it would suck to just alittle harder to work with. That stopped all my noise you can't hear it at all now. I always have trouble no one else does.

What does the breather do? Does it affect, help any?

The breather is not meant for our trucks. Our pcv system is closed so adding the breather will give you error codes since it will lose the vacuum from the pcv

It sure will.

The breather is usually used on competition motors. My track car runs three catch cans and they all have breathers. Our trucks don't need them and on the dirty side they would throw a code.
