Anyone start throwing performance parts at their '15s yet? I'm getting tired of mine feeling like a slouch.

Someone put a LT1 Vette intake manifold on their truck. The throttle body and heads are the same on the vette.

The LT 1 is tuned a little higher rpm for max hp. Might feel good for WFO but in city traffic, the lower rpm perfomance may be more desirable.

Out of curiosity are you running premium (91+) fuel?

First person I have heard say their 6.2 felt like a slouch....

If the TSM is programmed the same way the 5.3 is I would expect the same sluggish performance.

Raced a buddies 5.3 to 50 and barely pulled a truck length on him. Don't get me wrong its torquey as heck but still don't feel like 70 HP over a 5.3.

Yes I'm running 91 in it.

I believe that

I would seriously look at getting a tune done, not one of those off the shelf handheld tunners. Call a local GM tuner, Black Bear, or Diablew. The price to performance you get is wayy better than getting traditional bolt ons.

But aren't these new Di's only getting under 10hp gains even custom tunes? Anyone dynoed long tubes yet?

A little off topic, someone told they recently put a gmc sierra 6.2 stock on a dyno and it read 470.

Anyone else seen or heard similar?

Last one i be seen here was a 6 SPD and dynoed around 320whp I thought. Something's wrong if they got 470! Gm only rates the engine at 420. Maybe 470whp if it was forced induction.

Back on topic, has EFI Live or HPTuners cracked the 8 SPD yet?

I don't know where you are reading this but for 5.3's the gains are around 20hp/20trq across the powerband, and a little more if you have supporting mods. I would expect the 6.2 to have similar if not better results. In my experience, the thing that makes biggest difference is the TCM tune. It sounds silly, but after I got my tune the truck just stays in the powerband for longer periods of time during daily driving and at WOT. Shifts are firmer and there is more torque available everywhere due to a decrease in torque management.

I have not seen this, link? This might of been for a c7 Corvette 6.2 and not the truck 6.2

Transmission tune alone does wonders for both the 5.3 and 6.2. Engine side has room as well, but you really need a tuner who knows how to tune the newer GM DI engines to get the gains.

Problem on in person or dyno tune is I live in ne south Dakota. Nobody within 3 hours has experience I'd trust. I have the 8 speed trans, is anyone tuning this yet?

I would get in contact with Black Bear Performance and ask them if they are tuning 8 speeds. The way their custom tunes work is you buy the AutoCal, log 15-30 minutes of drive time into it. Upload the file and send it to them. Justin usually takes 5 days and he sends an ECM and TCM tune back to you which you upload to your AutoCal then upload to your truck.
