Problem with 2015 Sierra Denali

I purchased a new 2015 Sierra Denali with American Luxury coach package. Paid $74,000 for this truck (the ALC package was 18k upgrade). Gorgeous truck! I have owned the truck for 10 days and already having issues. The truck would not crank. I would have to try to crank it up to 10 times before it would actually crank. Took it back to GM dealership and I am being told "the computer system has crashed and has to be replaced". It is going to take two weeks for them to correct the problem and who the heck knows if it will actually get corrected? How in the world does a truck that costs this much and has 200 miles on it have to have anything replaced?! I am a total loss for words. To top it off, the dealership sends me to enterprise to get a rental car and I am put in a damn Mazda matchbox car for two weeks. So I purchase a $74,000 truck and have to drive around in a go cart for weeks. Complete BS. I told the dealership that I wanted them to take the truck back and I will take back the SUV I traded in. Of course that is not an option for them and I just have to deal with the BS.

I should have done more research before purchasing a GM product. NEVER AGAIN! I am completely disappointed in this purchase. GM products will not be an option for me in the future! Horrible service and Horrible product.

What's your address? I'll send over some Tissue.

Things happen. Yes, I wouldn't be happy either, but it is what it is. I would have requested a better loaner, but that is the dealers call and it's probably all in the paperwork. I always make sure when I buy that I go to a dealership that has loaners on site, so I know I am getting something that is at least fairly new and decent, and then don't have to deal with Rentals.

I'm not sure why you paid 18k for the ALC package. You can lift have a shop lift your truck and put wheels and tires on it (all covered under warranty) plus regear it for 10k or less.

But yes I agree, it's ridiculous but like said above, shit happens

I would be madder about the loaner then anything, things happen, if this is a repetitive problem that's another thing, 75k truck the dealer will do better then that on a loaner, maybe in a pinch on the first day but I'd be expecting a swap the next, find a new dealer

First post... humm.. your not another paid blogger on Ford's payroll are you?

As for the 18K option.... a lot of people will gladly pay an inflated amount for these dealer installed items because they can finance it all into the loan. When you get it all done on your own... you have to pay for it out of pocket..

As for the issue with the truck.... it's a mass produced item.... and most the time any issues will pop up very quickly... just like a new computer... it's either good or not..

Have you ever had anything else go wrong in your life? How did you handle that? Have you ever burned the toast that you made for your wife/girlfriend? Things happen.

Your dealership said they were going to fix it, so what are you upset about?

You bought a truck with a pile of bolt-on upfitter stuff, a "GM Factory VCI Computer Upgrade," and you are surprised something might go wrong?

I swear some of these people are on the payroll for ford and dodge. So you cranked it and it will not crank? The computer system crashed? I call bs on this..

man.. Who could make this shit up? He started out ripped off at $74000, why not keep sticking it to him.

This has to be true, I'm reading it on the Internet!

Wow, what a great group of people here. I have had things go wrong, its the way a business handles the issue when it goes wrong is what matters. I own a large mortgage company and we have employees mess things up all the time, but we also go above and beyond to make it right for the client. That was not done here. Thanks for all the advice/support, really makes people want to come back to this forum with all the great people here! You can call BS all you would like jay15892, makes no difference to me

Dont get upset, like I said i'd be more PIZZED at the dealer, unfortunately every make has there share of crap balls for service departments

You should have known better to come on here with a first post of that. You would have been way better off introducing yourself and then go into your issue and as if others have seen an issue similar.

The whole rental part of the deal, that's between you and your dealership. Nothing GM can do for you there, regardless if you bought a 10K car or 74K truck.

Most people dont go on a tirade and have immature responses to problems either. It's quite unreasonable. Don't blame GM when you bought a truck that was modified at an aftermarket installer that cleary messed up the truck.

You led off implying that just because you overpaid for a vehicle that nothing should ever go wrong with it. Not sure if this is your first dose of reality or not, but mechanical and electrical items WILL fail over time. Sometimes they fail right away, like in your situation. Luckily for you, it's under warranty and at no time did your dealership say they wouldn't fix it.

The only issue I would have with the situation would be the rental car.....but I blame you for letting yourself get behind the wheel of the Mazda. I would not have allowed that....but that's just me.

Gotta read the fine print, but I'm sure you know that being in the mortgage business.

Look, we're all on here because we want advice. Leading off with a complaint without accepting any personal responsibility is on you. Good luck with your Mazda.

You're probably right Rawyzf. I could have started the thread more tactfully. Im just extremely frustrated with the whole situation. The rental car is the worst part and then getting several different answers from the service dept. First I was told there was a service bulletin on the fuel pump and that was the problem then told a day later that the computer crashed and had to be replaced. I have no idea about either one. I tried checking around online to see if others had this issue or if it was common (which led me to here) and couldn't find anything similar to what I was being told. Just very frustrating
