Hey all, considering a 3.5" RC lift and have seen some random complaints on the old interwebs and facebook about having to regularly replace ball joints with this lift added... can anyone substantiate or chime in to these possible issues?

Also wondering if this is a true 3.5" lift? Ive heard the rc 7.5 is really about a 6"

buddys 2007 chev with the 3.5 lift was really only 3. put in new uca when the lift was installed and front end alignment. 25000 kilometers later and both uca ball joints are screwed

On my 2011 GMC Sierra CCSB I put the 3.5 inch RC with new UCA's, shocks, and all.. and after 5,000 miles one ball joint went bad. Replaced with MOOG then at 30,000 miles the other went bad. Replaced with MOOG and traded truck in at 36,000 miles. (I purchased the truck new and put lift on with about 750 miles on the truck.) It did look pretty sweet though, kinda miss the truck so I'm going to throw in a pic!

I really like the 2in RC level I have on my '16 GMC currently. If I was you, I'd go with a 4 inch lift or stick with a level. You can clear some pretty large tires with a leveling kit on these new trucks. I have 285's and they have PLENTY of room, no rubbing whatsoever. I would also advise not to get anything larger than a 2.5 inch level and most on here would agree.

Whether you decide to get a lift or level, post pics!

I had the rc 3.5 on my 2010 silverado. No problems but I also did not use the strut spacer. I bought the bilstein 5100 hight adjustable struts. Had general grabbers 33x12.5r17. But I also used a taller block in the back than the one that comes in the kit. Also had the trim the uca mounts because of a rubbing issue. I also installed moog ball joints at the time of installation.

Replaced LBJ at 63k with no mods. Now @ 78k and still no mods LBJ's bad again. Don  think the lift is the problem. Not saying it' helps but mine had no mods and have gone through a OEM set and an after market set. Don  know what it could be.
