You already cannot get a V8 F150 Raptor anymore. Base is the 3.5L ecoboost ~350 ish HP the highest optioned one has the same engine with dual turbos running ~430ish HP.

*Please feel free to correct me / my numbers I dont really pay attention to Fords but this is what I was told ... on IG i think.

I figured the Mustang was already the same since I seen GT's running a V6 ecoboost I figured they would just 'turbo bro' those too. Oh and that retarded V8 faux sound they pump in the speakers (is retarded a bad word here? I believe that is in proper context)

According to the Ford site it allows you to build a non Raptor F150 ('16 though, not sure about the '17s) with the 5.0 V8 and still has the 5.0 available for the '17 Mustang GT. Are you sure the Ecoboost Mustangs you saw were GTs?

Of course all of that doesn't mean it's easy to get a hold of a 5.0 F150. When I worked at the local dealer the top salesman said last year about something like you couldn't order a 5.0 F150 anymore or something like that for whichever year was out at the time. So maybe it's just very hard to find a 5.0 F150. I do remember when I wroked there every single F150 we had were the Ecoboost. I did see the new release of the Raptor it did have the 3.5 and didn't see nothing about it having an option for a V8. I believe Ford stopped producing the Raptor for 2-3 years up until this '17 that's coming out, or already has. I do remember thinking when I first heard about that was I don't see turbos and sand going good together since they market the Raptor as a truck you can go high speed on sand.

Another thing is that Ford marketed the Ecoboost as the engine that can make V8 power but still give you V6 fuel economy. I know it has no problem with the V8 power part, but I saw that the real work gas mileage is still like a V8. So really there's no advantage to have the Ecoboost. If anything it's more maintenance since you have the 2 turbos to deal with. It's just 2 less spark plugs and coils lol. I don't know about the oil capacity but I can only assume with 2 turbos (even being the size of donuts like they are) I'm sure is roughly the same as the 5.3 and 6.2 in these K2 1/2 tons. Just an assumption though. I really have nothing against Ford, I just disagree with how big they're pushing the Ecoboost to the point where sometime down the line you won't even be able to get a V8 in a GT Mustang, F150 or already the supercar GT (GT40).

Also there is a NA 3.5L V6, 2.7L Ecoboost, and 5.0 in F150's with all the Ecoboosts using stop/start. As for the Mustang, the GT is a 5.0, then a 2.3L Ecoboost 4 cyl is the midrange.

My next truck will be a new Super Duty.

I've had four in a row until I bought this 2500HD for a change up.

Nice truck and no real complaints, but nowhere near Ford engineering quality.

JMO.

The F super duty is a sweet truck! It's on my list for next truck along with a GMC 2500HD. Both gassers, I'll never own a diesel.

Could have swore they were. But do not like have pics ... I could check on IG. It why I kind of remember that who fakie V8 sound over the speakers. I could be wrong I don't pay much attention to cars let alone fords and have seen a ton on the streets. I am pretty sure about the raptor not running one though I do pay more attention to trucks and really that is the only ford truck I would drive ... well not any more lol.

Drove a 2015 on track at Willow Springs. They are V8 and they can move.

The new ecoboost in the regular 2017 F150's has 375 hp and 470 lbft. No real confirmation for the raptor yet but leaks are saying 450 hp and 510 lbft.

Ah so then if the Raptors are not in production that could explain why the Mustangs are still pushing V8's. Were the stangs and raptors not running same powerplant the 6.2L just a couple years ago ? Sounds like they have ditched the 6.2 entirely in favor of this dual turbo setup from what people above are saying.

Not saying you're wrong, just going by the Ford site because when I looked at the GT all I saw were the 5.0 and the base had the regular V6 or the Ecoboost. I do remember hearing about Ford doing that fake V8 sound and it was funny as hell to me that they would do something like that. I know they're not the only one to do it, but it's still kind of sad and funny.

I'm not sure. He was one of those salesmen that would lie straight to a customer's face just to get more money out of you. I think he said something about Ford was halting all V8 orders.

Product should be starting soon. The old raptors had the 6.2L, but the mustang never got that drivetrain, only the 5.0L in the GT's.

I'm not sure. He was one of those salesmen that would lie straight to a customer's face just to get more money out of you. I think he said something about Ford was halting all V8 orders. I don't know exactly, but I do know for a fact that all of the F150s there at the time were Ecoboost.

The GTs never had the 6.2, just the Raptor at the option of a supercharged 5.4 or a 6.2. I think even the Mustang Shelbys had the supercharged 5.4 and no 6.2. I could be wrong about all of that though. Like you I pay some attention to Ford and Dodge, but not much. I guess that's why when I tried being a car salesman I was only comfortable with trying to sell a GM, especially a Camaro, Corvette and mostly a Silverado.

I don't even know about that. A heavy turkey or ham might put a hole in the bed. Would be hilarious and ironic if you dropped a 12 pack of aluminum can drink and it put a hole in it lol.
