Then I've read that the new HEMIs (ever since coming back with it a few years ago) cost a lot in maintenance. Not talking about problems, but just routine maintenance. Just what I've read though. I guess then he'll try the Tundra and be made fun of because he's in a Jap truck and won't know what to do next.

I had a few 2009+ Hemi Rams and except for the poo fuel mileage they all were trouble free. Only extra maintenance was the oil change (according to the manual) was every 6 months regardless of mileage, low-mile people didnt like that. Plus the spark plugs (all 16 of 'em) had to be changed every 30K miles according to the schedule. Not that big of a pain or expense really if you did it yourself.. But 2014+ they went to one year oil (or whatever mileage) change and switched to a different spark plug and now they are 100K before a spark plug change.

Hypothetical racing is the best kind... don't much care what anything does on E85 since unless I buy it in barrels it doesn't exist here. Again... relative lol. I know what they do custom tuned on premium... so I would wager that beating a stock tuned e85 truck lol.

its not hypothetical. There are number videos or races on the street and strip on the web comparing the two. I have a 6.2L but will happily admit the new 5.3L is a great engine and not too far off when tuned, or fueled with E85. Not meaning to offend you but i've been around the forum a long time and rarely post. You seem to have to put your negative two cents in on almost every topic, relentlessly. In definition, a troll. Lets maybe try to tone it down or if you have no valuable, positive contribution, dont post at all? I dont understand what people get out of trying to anger others on the internet. Go clean your truck or chase the old lady.

Well I offer this only...Do you actually go to the track and run anything or do you just take suggestion from online videos you find posted on YouTube? Because I actually do run my junk for fun.. and there are a pile of trucks out on street legal nights.. if that's a negative contribution because I don't agree with your videos you found online I apologize.

It would be sad if the 6.2 wasn't faster than the 5.3.

So what's the point to argue that the 5.3 is "almost" as fast?

Geez, my dads old car with a 60 HP 4-banger is almost as fast as the 6.2.

It's just a difference of 45-60 seconds from 0-60. What is a minute in real life?

On the track it's a different story , of course.

I've only owned full size Chevy trucks since getting my license. First one was an '86 C10 that was a manual trans (granny transmission that had an extra low gear so it went L-1-2-3 so it wasn't good on the itnerstate), manual windows and door locks and didn't even have factory A/C. So my A/C was the vent windows. That's probably why I'm so used to just driving with the windows down and not running A/C no matter how hot it is. It only sucked in the '86 when it was hot and raining. Oh and someone that owned that '86 before me ripped out the radio and door speakers and not having the money to get all new stuff, I used a cheap boom box. Went through a couple, but I thought it was nice when I found one with detachable speakers so I put one in each corner behind the seat.

I'm not even that old (turned 31 last month), but I laugh at the people that act like they can't survive without features that they're lucky to even have on any vehicle let alone a truck. some people seem to want the vehicle to do everything for them and God forbid spending 1-2 seconds to do something.

I don't post on forums often, but this made me chuckle. I too remember a road trip with my best friend in the early 90's in a 1978 Chevy 2500. 1 day, 300+ miles with a D-cell boom box between us on the bench seat, at 10 mpg.

They sure don't make them like they used to, and that's not all bad.

Also I don't think many people my age or younger know the struggle of having a vehicle with manual windows lol. I remember times where I would be driving my '86 reg cab C10 with the windows down (remember, I said no factory A/C at all) and then it would start to rain. So instead of just being able to put them up in about 3 seconds all from my door, I had to pull over so I could get the passenger window up lol. It had a lot of miles and the interior was gone. But, the body was solid and no computer. I just wish it was 4x4 or I'd still have it as a play truck. The thing is, I don't remember complaining about stuff about the truck, maybe the sh*tty gas mileage and no A/C when it was rtianing during the summer, but nothing else lol. People no adays would do nothing bu bitch about having to drive a truck or any vehicle like that. I was just happy to have my own truck that was a full size Chevy, had a V8 and was a manual.

ive ran my buddies 2015 Denali with a 5.3 a few times with my 16 6.2 Denali. Nothing off the line just quick 20-100 mph bursts and its about 3-4 trucks by the time we are done.

Sorry guys, even with E85 , the 5.3 cant beat a 6.2

I didn't get my 5.3 for hp or options,all the options in my LT is a plus for me but I'm simple.Some do like upgraded options and don't think it's a bad thing,just little overrated for my lifestyle.If it rides nice and dependable is my main concerns.

I don't think there is any post here claiming the 5.3 would beat a 6.2. I'm not going to read 10 pages looking. The issue is 6.2 owners with over inflated egos saying the 5.3 is trash. Heck, if that is true, you should be ashamed your 6.2 was only a few truck lengths ahead of a 5.3.

And I think about the only people I hear complaining about these mostly non existent 6.2 egos are overly sensitive 5.3 owners... Like who cares... You bought what you bought lol. One is quicker than the other one and subsequently pulls a load more easily. Doesn't make one garbage at all... But somehow it always comes to that. The OP bought a Ford and left.. Thread over.

The 5.3 is for sure not trash not in anyway. It makes pretty decent numbers. Also damn pretty reliable as well and it's max tow rating is impressive at over 11k but at the same time it's horsepower/torque is not first vs it's competitors. Would have loved to see this motor rated at something like 385 and 400lb of tq.

It is if you run it on E85.
