It’s a 2018 2500 Silverado 6 liter. It does have power windows and locks. Am I looking at basic tow mirrors only or something more fancy er. Your help would be very much appreciated.

I just replaced my factory "small" side mirrors with the 1A Auto tow mirrors with the power fold option.  I have to echo everyone else who has said pgamboa was a huge help.  His harnesses were perfect and his help through the whole process was second to none!  He answered all my questions from before I even bought anything through "what do I do with my old mirrors".  Excuse the dirty truck!

If you have power windows and locks, the upgrade is much easier to perform.

Again, you’ll need a new bezel that’ll accommodate a power adjust and power fold sketch. An additional hanress that connects the new bezel to the main door panel harness. A set of my custom harnesses for whichever mirror you want to go with. And a set of mirrors.

If I recall, the bezel trim piece runs about $60. I think I may have a couple in my possessions.

The harness that goes inside the door panel to connector the new bezel is about $50.

Harnesses from me - $285, if you go DIY Kit for this part, $65. If you PnP, I Refund $100 for your stock harnesses.

And mirrors.

I’ve got some tow mirrors showing up this week and have a question. I don’t have the RZY harness and won’t for a while but looking for an I interim solution. 2014 Sierra SLE

Is there a switched power source in the door I can tie the amber marker lights on the mirrors into so they come one when the truck is on? I will separate the mirror side signals so just the amber signals are on.

This is only a temporary solution.

Yes - There are two circuits you can tap the marker lights to. One is called “LED Backlight Dimming Control” - Circuit # 6817. Tying into this will fools the lighting that your buttons are tied to. They can be dimmed and turn off with the dimmer switch. On the main 41-Pin door jamb connector, it’s pin #29. On the 48-Pin connector that connectors to the door panel, it’s pin # 1. It is a yellow wire.

The other circuit is called “LED Ambient Lighting Control” - Circuit # 7557. On the 41-Pin connector, it’s pin # 30. White wire with a yellow stripe. On the 48-Pin connector, it’s pin 2.

If I recall, They both come only come on at night.

I just purchased a set of DL3 mirrors from a member here and installed them on my 2017 LT with Phil's harnesses.  It took me about an hour on the driver's door since this was my first time removing the door panels and I was following his instructional video.  Very easy to do.  The passenger side took me 15-20 minutes because I knew exactly what I was doing by then!

 

The harnesses and mirrors work great!  I'm just waiting on the power folding switch to arrive Wednesday so I can utilize the folding function and the install will be 100% complete.  Phil is great and communicates quickly if you have questions.  I highly recommend!  My stock harnesses are boxed up to go back to him so he can pay it forward to someone else and I can get my $100 back!

 

The hardest part of the install (for me at least), was getting the five retention clips along the tops of the door panels (along the window) to release.  Those things were TIGHT!!!  The chrome mirror caps that came on the DL3's broke tabs (as expected), but I was able to remove my painted ones without breaking anything and transfer them over to the new mirrors.  That was nerve-wracking, but I got it done.

Can someone please post the part numbers for the DQS towing mirrors for a 2015 2500HD?

 

Found 84041609 (drivers side) but can’t find a good part number for the passenger side (84041611 does not come up)

I just wanted to thank Phil for being the real MVP on this topic! I wish I researched a little more before I trusted the dealer. (It would have saved about a months worth of hassle and time). He confirmed part numbers and was a big help in the harnesses. I put factory DQS mirrors on my 2016 Silverado LTZ Midnight.

      seat base height *lowering* (base 40/20/40 seat, 2026 1500 WT std cab)

      Folks, Have a great new 2026 WT  (std cab, 2.7/4WD) w/base 40/20/40 mech adj bench "fake buckets"  (with lower and upper center console) heavy vinyl seats.  Overall the seats are very comfortable and the vinyl is heavy and appears less likely to 'split out'. Am very tall (6'5")  + a bad back/osteporosis/former hyperparathyroidism so ease/range of movement is a bit restricted.  The truck rides a bit high and I use a nerf step bar w/my left foot to step in, then I put right foot/leg in, drag my butt in  & get seated.  Worked fine in my 2018 RAM quadCab. But I end up dragging my butt over the left raised sidecushsion area of vinyl seat, and due to texture there's fair amount of traction on slide inward.  (ArmorAll didn't improve.) If the seat were even ~1/2" - 3/4" lower it'd be helpful, but base seats just have the forward/backward underseat bail and the side lever for tilt which really doesn't affect seat height.   I really don't want to 'de-puff' the left side sidecushion forming the  fake 'bucket'. I know one company sells 'seat elevator blocks':  but is there a simple way of lowering the height of the driver seat instead?   Thanks Bill W San Jose

      I have a basic 2026 1500 WT  (2.7L/4WD reg cab shorttbed). Comfy, generally happy with electronics/radio - but is there a way I can add switches to steering wheel right-side position (curr. empty) so I can adjust volume, push phone button to voice dial, etc? Bill W San Jose

      The curb weight on a 1 ton crew cab long bed is around 7k lbs.  Now, I don't know where you went to school but 9k is not more than 2x 7k lbs. More than 2x 7k lbs would be 14k+.   With that said, obviously yes you're going to feel a 9k lb trailer when slowing down.  I already said, when accelerating.  When changing lanes?  No.  But if you look at the context of what was quoted, the original person said, "after a mile or two..." which means that would be after the accelerating portion and you're driving a generally steady pace.  Please do learn to read and comprehend.

      So I purchased the Range unit for my 2026 and I am seeing different locations suggested for the ECM . Can anyone confirm wither under hood, left side or right side or behind the wheelwell?

      Like I've said before. Di and Carbon buildup is not that big of a concern. Engine had minimal buildup, and that engine was obviously not super well maintained. Do regular oil changes, and you're gtg as long as the rest of the truck lasts. Also, the High Pressure FP that people ****** about, but can't tell you why.  Now, I wish they'd trash the variable oil pump. No real world issues with them, but I'll gladly eat whatever miniscule MPG it's saving me in favor of more oil at all RPMs.    Curious to see his assessment of the 7.3 compared to the 6.6. I expect he'll praise the port inj, but from a structural standpoint, the 6.6 is as robust as any engine out there.    Not to take away from the 7.3. I feel it's equally as good as the 6.6.     As to heat on the rear cyls, I'd have to see numerous examples before I'd say it's an issue. Especially not knowing the history of that engine. For all is known, they could have blown a rad hose, and ran it hot, and the 2 rear cyls may be the first to get hot in a low coolant situation, but not be an issue aside from that.
