5 minutes after buying my truck I raced my own 5.0 stang that my buddy drove to take me to the dealership

 

I lost obviously, but it wasn't pulling away nearly as hard as I thought it would. It was like 30-90mph and my front bumper was at his rear bumper.

A good reminder why I pull over and let the vehicle pass when I look in the rearview and see someone texting on a cell phone, reading a paper against the steering wheel or using the rearview or visor mirror while putting on makeup or combing hair. Never did run across one racing while taking videos through the side mirror.....now I have!

My 6.2L beat my friends stick shift '06 4.6L GT quite handily, bad enough to make him mad. I would imagine a 5.0L would destroy my truck though, unless you went from a dig and launched in 4x4 and the Mustang blew the tires off. Not to give too much credit to Ford, but the 5L's aren't playing around.

never look at your phone while driving

My phone is usually "off" and in the console or my back pocket so you would be correct. I figure if I'm driving, my responsibility lies with driving and not killing some innocent person with a 6,000 lb. projectile. YMMV
