tyler.frost92 Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Did you even scroll up? "Then ordered the brushed aluminum Yukon Denali trim ring (part number 23208761) " obviously I missed that part [emoji106]Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Only certain wireless chargers can get it to fast charge mode, the original wireless charger in my 17 won't fast charge. Yes, the little lighting bolt shows up on the screen. I didn’t know that’s what it meant; I just thought it was a charging indicator.
2017SierraSLT Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 I performed the 2018 charger swap today. I also took two charger pads to make an exact copy of the impossible to find 2018 10 rib charger rubber mat. My Moto Z charged 33% in one hour, and was not finicky as the 2017 charger was. The charger was $113.75 from my dealer.

BlkSS Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 Big thanks to Phil (pgamboa) as I purchased the splice-in pigtail version of his harness back in December. Tuesday I finally received the 2018 module which had been on backorder and got everything installed that night in my 2016 Silverado. Everything works as it should as phone position is no longer an issue as it had been previously with my Samsung and it charges my phone faster than the 2016-17 module did. Last night I noticed it charges my wife's Samsung that has an Otterbox case even though it doesn't sit flush on the mat. I highly recommend this upgrade and Phil to everyone with a 2016 or 2017 with the wireless charging option. 2

rcpd34 Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 This is not a solution, but a workaround. The Mophie case will also work. The solution is to swap over to the newer module.

So correct me if I'm wrong. This plus the upgraded charging module should charge an iphone 8 plus?
cmatt Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 Can someone with a ‘18 confirm a thicker wire isn’t being used on the harness?I have a 15.5 and can’t directly confirm exactly what you’re asking. However, for a 2018 according to GM Service info, the 3 wires going into the wireless charger connector, both the accessory ignition voltage and the indicator control signal (pins 1 & 3, respectively) are listed as 22AWG. The ground (pin2), is listed as 18AWG.GMSi also shows the same wire sizes, colors and positions for my 2015.5.
