Tundra and Denali

I'm a GM guy, but also a truck guy so I notice all trucks. Just like I also notice all muscle and pony cars new or old rather it's a GM or not. I don't think the Tundra is that ugly, doesn't look as good as GMs but still not butt ugly. The Nissans though are ugly and don't get me started on the so called truck, the Honda Ridgeline.

Yup, I feel the same way. I just traded my 08 Taco for my 17 Silverado. I have nothing but good things to say about the 10 years with my Taco. I had zero problems and I got a third of what I paid for it at trade in after 10 years/168k. I wanted to go full size this time around. I don't much care for the Tundras antiquated old engine. Tacoma continues to own the small truck segment.

(Nissan trucks are butt ugly!)

ha ha.. I would hope so!! Apples and oranges.. that's like comparing a corvette to a Cruze.

The true comparison is a Colorado/Canyon vs a Tacoma.

Take them both for a ride and it's like apples and oranges also, the taco feels like it's stone age! NO comparison!

Yup, dude I work with told me he spent the Memorial Day weekend in and out of fishing holes in his relatives Colorado. He said, "the ride and handling and comfort are hands down better than his 2016 TACO" He said, "I will still take the Taco over the chevy because it's a Toyota"

It's amazing, even when the frames were rotting out on the taco and tundra, some people still went back to them. Mostly because the media gave them a free pass. If it was a GM/Ford/Dodge you would have seen it in the news everyday, but nothing.

This time GM took the comparison out of their hands, any honest person knows the Colorado/ Canyon is a better truck!

Hmm.. not sure about that. Let me own one for 10 years and put 170k on it. If I have zero issues other than replacing the muffler, I'll agree 100%.

Agree with Southern the Toyotas are decent looking but the Titan is UGLY as sin. Ridgeline looks like a Pilot with the back of the roof chopped off.

I've had more GMs lately Hyundais, can't recall a anyone showcasing a vehicle with 1,000,000 miles other than Tundra.

One of many it seems, with a little google fu.

My brother bought a Tundra about the same time I bought my Silverado, and I got to drive it recently, and I have got to say, there is no comparison. Brand loyalty (and the fact I own one) aside, the Silverado is a better riding, more efficient and I think better looking truck. As for being better built, that remains to be seen. But he won't the kind of miles on that I do (16k in 7 months of ownership) so there can't be a direct comparison there. The Silverado shifts smoother, puts the power down much better, and is much quieter than his Tundra. However, his has more room, the front jump seat is usable (if only barely) by an adult, the rear seats have far more room, and the stock exhaust has a better sound than my Chevy (seriously GM, wtf?)

Given my experience and putting bias aside, the Chevy is a better truck. And it looks fantastic to boot.

I remember when I worked at a lumber yard/building material store a contractor had a Silverado and traded it for a Tundra because the Tundra had more "balls". I believe they offer Tundras with axle gears as low as 4.10 from the factory. So sometimes it's not all about looks. I'm a GM guy through and through, but luckily I don't feel the need for even leather seats let alone all of the luxuries that a Denali, High Country or even an LTZ or SLT have. I like some stuff, but some I don't care for so I guess I'm a mid trim level guy.

The thing that bugs me about the Tundra and Nissan trucks is that they are sort of marketed as comparable to a 2500 when they have glorified 1500 drivetrains.

Yeah, I agree. The Titan HD is supposed to be a TWEENER? Really, it's even less comparable than a 1500 gasser NHT? I was looking at the oil filter on the 5.6L gasser truck the other day. Don't ask why I was there apparently Nissan "ONLY" fluid once again got me for the wife's car...........

So this oil filter for this 5.6L is maybe 2.125" diameter and maybe 3.00" long? None of this makes any sense to me?
