I don't know about those. I'd rather have some careless a-hole slam their door into my running boards rather than into the side of my truck! LOL!

FYI - no running board on the market sticks out far enough to prevent door dings that I know of.  They would have to stick out like a foot to prevent that.

My dad has some factory running boards and about 2 months ago some jackass was in a hurry to get out of his car and let the door go and it hit the running boards. Me and my dad where sitting in the truck and we saw it happen. Got out expecting some damage to the trucks but there was none.

HoozierZ: trying not to hijack here, but I have been debating removing the air dam (like...today).  I'm just curious if there are any delicate components or CV boots (I have 2WD) that are protected from small rocks and other road debris by leaving the air dam on - is that why you felt the need to put the skid plate on?  Thanks, beautiful truck by the way, you nailed dit as far as looks go.

Air dam removals are different for certain years of truck. When I removed my air dam on my 2015 Silverado 1500 LT it didn't leave a gap. It actually made it look more lifted. :)

The more I look at the pic it kind of looks like there is a gap but its a chrome plate that cover the license plate area. They come on the High Country model Silverados.

I can't imagine, that had to be a really low vehicle. My wifes VW GTI doesnt even go that low.

It was a newer Honda Accord. We where surprised there was no damage. The truck is only dropped 3 inches in the rear. Maybe it was my dad's lucky day? Who knows why the door didn't hit the truck.

The sad part is, these jackasses don't care if they ding the sh*t out of someone else's vehicle.. it's sickening...

Would you happen to have the number for that chrome filler panel?  I have the silver Z71 one and would like to swap it out for the chrome one.

Or at least the diameter of the exhaust pipe needed and if there is an offset and I can probably figure it out from there.  The truck is at the dealer right now so I can't run out and measure.

The other poster was correct. I would let a muffler shop do it. They cut out the muffler/flapper and welded in pipe that did have a slight bend to it. It took them all of 20 min and cost me $59 out the door.

Sounds awesome.

Not sure about the tow mode/eco mode. The only thing I know of that will keep it in V8 is driving in M5, which is only suitable up to about 55mph or so.

I've had my range device for about a week and it has thrown a Check Engine Light but I never experienced any power loss as some others have noted. One time I unplugged it and drove in M5 around town and it went away after a few driving cycles as Range notes in their FAQ section and this last time, the CEL went away on its own without me even unplugging the Range. The truck seems to drive much better to me in V8 mode and my MPG has not suffered much, if any. Driving 8 hours to Charlotte this weekend so this will be a better test for the Range.

Ok, I will see what a local shop will charge and see when I can get in there for the muffler delete.  I should delete the flapper as well?

And I don't think that towing mode changes the AFM.  It changes the throttle sensitivity and changes the shift points on the tranny, but it still goes into V4 mode at times, I checked it last night.

I would change to a better muffler - unless you like LOUD.  See the link in my sig for options.....

Run around town in M7 will keep it out of V4............
