What Have You Done With Your T1 Today ?????

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone.

I am new to the site. I have been reading for a couple weeks now.

Bought my new White 2020 Sierra 1500 AT4 about 3 weeks ago.

Finally got around to taking some photos of before and after a few upgrades.

Specs:

6.2L loaded with every package except for the performance package

18" Wrangler Duratracs

Adaptive cruise control

rear view camera

GMC 6" running boards

factory spray in bed liner

Upgrades: (so far)

short (stubby) antenna - factory antenna kept hitting my garage door

window tint 13% on two front windows and 8" down for the sun brow (window)

hard wired Valentine V1 radar detector and rear view mirror bracket

Hard Tri Fold Bed cover (not sure of the brand name) from GMC and installed by dealership - got them to add it in when I bought

Fuel brand Blitz wheels added to the Duratracs

Pro Clip iPhone mount with wired connection for CarPlay

Pictures of upgrades coming in the next posts

Heres the original photo.

Love this truck so far. I got it the way I wanted it and I am super happy with it.

Heres the Short stubby Antenna.

Got it from Advanced auto parts for about $10-$15.

It looks ok. the reception has been good.

I use either CarPlay or the iHeart radio app on the GMC infotainment.

so I needed the shorter antenna more for function because the factory antenna was hitting my garage door.

Here is the Valentine V1 bracket. It is the mirror mount radar detector bracket from Amazon.

got the hardwire solution from Gen5diy dot com.

They use GM factory connectors. It was plug and play and literally took a couple of minutes to install.

Also you can see the sun brow window tint at the top of the photo.

so far no issues or problems and works like a charm.

I am really liking the location especially no suction cups on the window.

God darn chip out of the front wheel

Ryan B.

Ryan, apparently these wheels are sort of brittle. I went to my hunting camp a few days ago and there is one not-so-bad mud hole to get in. I went in and out of it two or three times, at very low, like 4 low crawl speeds (never punched it or spun my tires once). And when I washed my truck yesterday I noticed one very similar to this! What the heck!?!

Here are few photos of the bed cover from GMC and installed by the dealer.

I had them throw this in on my deal when I purchased the truck.

It is a Hard Tri Fold. It is pretty flush.

It leaks a little in the front corners but I took it back to the dealership to fix the latch.

It does not give me full access to the whole bed.

It folds up two panels from the tailgate and latches next to the back of the cab.

Or it will fold one panel back from the cab towards the tailgate to give me quick access to the front of the truck bed near the cab.

It also has a keyed lock near the cab on the driver side.

Just got this installed within the last couple of days. So I am still working on the seal and water leakage. I understand that it is not 100% waterproof but was hoping to get it pretty close. I can see a small gap on the driver side front corner near the cab. I just don't know what to put there yet.

I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Now I have to find a place to get rid of the factory wheels.

I just installed the ProClip mount for my iPhone today so I have not taken a photo yet. Will try to take some this weekend and update.

Solved my ground hog problem. Money saved by not hiring an specialist exterminator will be used for buying an OEM lighted bowtie.

Simple formula: Take one motor vehicle, one piece of plastic corrugated drain hose, and one shovel. Fill all holes except one. Backup truck to open hole; one end of hose in hole, other end over tailpipe; idle engine for approx. 20 mins.; remove hose and fill in last hole. Check next day for reopened holes; open holes? reapply formula; no open holes? problem solved, no disposal needed, plant daisies.

Dealership installed the Kicker Audio System  but cut corners and decided not to install the lights. (Many dealers do this apparently) I didn't really care for the system but if they put it in there and I have it... I wanted the lights. So I bought the multi-pro tailgate lights kit and popped the lights out of the frames and put them in the kicker system.

My dealer left the LED lights out and lost the rubber seals.  It took 3 months to obtain a replacement seal.  How much were the lights?
