Ok that's great but what's going on with the secondary resonator on the s-type and whatever that is on the atak?  Almost looks like they keep one of the flappers or something.

Also, I want to make sure I'm understanding correctly that the exhaust is 3.5" in (same as stock) and 2.75" SINGLE out (smaller than stock).  Wouldn't that be counterproductive?

When will sound clips be posted?

Thanks

Hello! Our systems are 3.5" in and out of the muffler. It then splits into dual 2.75". Our systems do not have the flapper valve.

Here is a preview video of our S-Type system on the 6.2L. We do plan to have an official video with all three of our sound levels!

I have ordered an AT4 that will be built in July with the performance upgrade package. Will it have a Borla exhaust or a GM? I wasn’t given any options for which model of Borla it would be. I test drove one with that package and it was fairly quiet except when getting on it a little.

It's the GM branded Borla Touring. They are slightly different but both made by Borla.

Hello Ian,  I had a S type cat back on my 2016 and really liked it.  I assume this is a similar sound with no drone?

I just finished helping my neighbor install the ATAK on his 2019 Silverado. We took our time and were done in just 1hr 15 minutes using a 2 post lift. Fit was great and sounds healthy on his 6.2 without being obnoxious. Nice!

Not my truck but the guy who owns it reports “no drone” at any speed in any gear. I have not personally ridden in it though.

I have type-s in my 2017 SRT Jeep

Only drown was when it went from 8 to 4cyl...

Otherwise sounded great

Borla has recently made an effort to streamline their exhaust outputs via touring, types, atak

Huge market for this system, I doubt they would mess it up.

Installed the type-s on my 6.2 last night

No drone but significantly louder than any other type-s I’ve owned... not real pleased with borla..

If your going to market your entire line-up on their 3 levels of sound output that they use across most

Of their exhaust, might be smart to keep some level of consistency..,

Seems almost impossible to make a certain exhaust have the same consistency over every platform.

Agree 100%

Just seems like they market it like it is

Yeah I get where you're coming from. I am personally happy to hear that the s type is louder than expected because of the lack of an atak option for the 5.3. I am hoping the s type will be loud enough for me.

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
