Let us know how you like the Gibson. I've heard it on one of the Black Widow SCA's. I thought it sounded good but didn't drive it.

I installed the Gibson exhaust. Loving it. I've created a new thread so as not to derail this one.

Hi everyone, we do have videos coming for the 2019 Silverado! We have shot and recorded the 5.3L, but have not started on the 6.2L trucks. We understand how important videos are for our products, however, we aren't always able to have a video right away because we sometimes do not have the time or resources to do one. We have limited access to vehicles. We typically try to find customers who are willing to volunteer their vehicles for R&D in exchange for product. More often than not, we end up having to bring in multiple vehicles as we usually only have 2-3 weeks with each car/truck and R&D can sometimes take much longer depending on how many products we will be offering and sound tuning. There are cases where we finish R&D, but don't have time to do a video so we end up having to look for another vehicle. In addition, we also do not have an in-house video team.

With that being said, we are in need of a Silverado/Sierra 6.2L! You would be getting a Cat-Back system in exchange for letting us borrow your vehicle for a video showcasing all of our sound levels. Our R&D facility is located in Oxnard, CA, and the truck must be stock. If you are interested, please send us a PM. Thank you!

don't have the resources or time?  really?

Your systems are at the higher-end of the price scale... you had 24 million in revenue last year, prob have 150 employees?

Ian, you're in the trenches with the marketing and sales teams....  I can tell you for a fact that you would sell systems much easier if the end user had i general idea of what they are buying.

2-3 weeks in R&D... take out your iphone and make a 30 second clip of a cold start or somebody just revving the engine.  Doesn't have to be a production, nor is it expensive or time consuming.

Just my 2 cents

I'm looking at the s type as we speak.  I've got 20,000+ miles on my truck. The valances are already staining from the exhaust.  I would like to change tips, but to add a polished tip is $322 more than no tip, then the carbon fiber looking one is a $722 upgrade!  Pulling OE ones, and repainting is what im leaning towards.

These are aftermarket prices, they increase dramatically if you order direct from borla.

The exhaust shouldnt stain. Use a metal polish and clean them.

I installed my Borla Touring #140771 earlier this week on a 2019 LTZ 6.2L.  For what I wanted it sounds great, maybe a bit quiet.  What I was afraid of was a drone when the cylinders shut down and there is none.  As a mechanical engineer I have to say that this flapper set up is a joke.  I can see why the extended warrantee does not cover the exhaust system.  Those flappers will fail.  Even if they get stuck open, their shape restricts flow.  I know other companies use them, some are opened and closed electronically but I think this is a terrible execution of this system.  My next step is to fixed the squashed cross over pipe.  I have read the oval will move as much CFM as a round tube on this tread and I agree, if it was a calculated oval.  Put a straight edge on your pipe.  They simply crushed it and when I cut mine off, I will measure the ID and do the calculations of the flow loss.

Hello Craig, definitely not too loud.  To quiet for my liking but there is no drone and no difference in the exhaust sound during cylinder deactivation.  The only time I can hear the new exhaust is under heavy throttle.  During normal acceleration and highway speeds it is very quiet in the cab.  I believe Borla has a return policy is you are not happy with it.  I have many Borla exhaust systems and they make great products.  I do have Borla Attack systems on 2 of my Mustangs and they are loud but they are toys, not a daily drivers.  I would not recommend the S Type or the Attack if you are concerned about louder exhaust sound.

Thanks, definately thinking of going this route, 1200 is a little bit tough to swallow though.

I was told by friends at GM in Warren MI that Borla make the system for GM Performance.  Borla's lifetime warrantee is better than GM's but you know how that goes, everyone that touches it marks it up.

Just swap the muffler. Waste of money getting a cat-back in my opinion. Cut out the flappers and replace muffler. It already has 3.5" pipe split to duals. Catback is just basically replacing good pipe.

They do and you save about $400.00 by purchasing it online.  I bought mine from Summit Racing.  It is a upper easy install and if you don't want to get dirty any local muffler shop will do it for you.  Easy money for them.

Man, I'm with you on that squashed crossover pipe! I mentioned replacing it with a true round section and got SO MUCH HATE in another forum here. The first time I saw that squashed pipe I thought it was a joke. Post up your findings when you get around to it.
