Loose Steering. 04 silverado

I first noticed a death wobble at 35-40 mph other than that it is good. I jacked up the front end and i have alot of play left and right but tight up and down. It seems like my idler arm has play and my steering box has some play. My idler arm, pitman arm, inner and outer tie rods are less than a year old. Wondering if it is steering link or steering box. I need ideas. Truck is a 2004 chevy silverado 1500 lt

The only thing that I can suggest is to crawl under it and find out what is loose.

I don't think there is any magic.

Steering is loose or you can’t keep the truck straight very well?

Both. When i crawl under it and move the tires the shaft going from the steering box to the steering wheel moves even with a steering wheel lock on it. Is it suppose to do that? Other than that my guess is the center link is worn because all other parts are new. Thanks

You are probably right.

A guy in Mass just lost all of his steering because the pitman arm fell off.

He was lucky that he didn't hurt someone or damage his truck.

The play seems to be inside the steering box. Is it possible that that whole box could be bad?

Yes,a steering box can get oversensitive

Update: My idler arm and pitman arm is what failed at only 1 year. Thanks for help
