I have a GMC with the multipurpose tailgate and just hauled some mulch in it.  I covered the tailgate with a tarp but while unloading the mulch some of it must have gotten into the tailgate apparatus!  It’s now got rocks rattling around in the tailgate!  Anyway to get these rocks out of the tailgate?

I don't own either of these products but if you look up TailGateFix.com you'll find they make both a load stop lock to keep the step up and a split gate override to prevent being able to drop the second gate into a hitch.

I installed the Tailgatefix hitch lockout switch last month. Works as advertised. Hopefully it proves to be durable.

I too installed the CURT Tailgate Hitch Solution.  Plugs into the existing harness, no splicing wires, clean look, and works great so far.

Take the plastic covers off (bed liner on inside of tailgate).  Then you can access the insides.  That is how the kicker stereo gets installed.  Easy.

Just had this happen to me, ie the stop dropped back down while hauling a load.  Called the dealer and asked if this was supposed to happen, I thought it was broke or I just couldn't figure out how to keep it locked up as a load stop.  I checked the owner manual before calling the dealer but nothing mentioned in that either.  Has anyone found a solution to this?  It would seem  like a wedge placed in the channel while its vertical would work.  i am surprised no aftermarket product is available.

There is a product to fix this, I have it on my truck.

Did you get the manual or the auto version? Since they are the same price any reason not to get the auto? Does the auto just always stop it from opening all the way into a step?
