BCM reprogramming

Took my 2017 silverado 2500HD to chevy to have them reprogram my BCM. (truck came from canada and you cant turn off the light unless your in park! Safety thing canada does) But, the service tech said he cant SWITCH OUT my BCM because it's Vin'ed to the vehicle which I understand, but I wanted him to reprogram it which he said he can't do!? Does anyone know if this is true or how I can get this done?

Lies....can be done dealers have to do it for replacement parts. Or you can order a new bcm and it will come set to your vin.

My worry is if I order a new one and they set it to my vin will that have the same set up on the lights? Or do i need to talk to someone directly when i order it to explain what i want first?

Oh wow yes that sliped.my mind. Ok then send it to whites and he can do it. Only issue is you are down a truck when the program is done.

I don’t know if this works on the “export” vehicles but might want to try it first it’s about 350 bucks cheaper...

Thanks for the info. Yeah I’ve tried the spring removal and due to the BCM it doesn’t work. Thanks though

White Automotive doesn't show support for the 2014 up trucks anymore.  Haven't for quite a while either.

honestly his website isn't the greatest compared to the service options available. There was just a post a few weeks ago on the bcm options available. Message Pgamboa or GTXprix and they can answer better. 

I still can't figure out what all he has available as far a tuning change. He posted a list but like most all things it says ask your more details and request options. I want fogs w/headlights, 20minute run time, and maybe more......

Huh? Click the link says 2014+ Global A C/K Truck/SUV Custom BCM Programming... plus they have been on this site posting in at least several threads about what they can do in the last couple of months that I’ve seen and how they are working on more options they can program.In fact here is a thread they started just last month talking about this. So maybe you got some bad info or know something we don’t ?

Yeah go on their website and read the bottom of the 2014 Global A stuff.  Its said not available and this product is not available for a long time now.  The only bad info is their own website if they actually offer anything currently.  Alternately I am getting a BCM done for my 2013 next week lol.

We had this discussion before on here in a different thread it says “not available” because there is nothing for them to send to you. You have to send your BCM to them and they send it back. So since a product is not “stocked” it’s not available...

Hmm.  I am going to ask... they never said that before on the order sheet and there was no option other than sending them your bcm for reprogramming.  I want my 17 done as well but the 13 is more important.

Can you do this for a ECM and or TCM ?
