GMC Sierra 6.2 CAI issues

I recently installed a K&N https://www.knfilters.com/cold-air-intakes/63-3082-performance-air-intake-system and I have noticed some issues with my rpms. The RPMs tend to rev slightly every few seconds in cruise control while the truck is set below 71 mph. I have also noticed when the gears are shifting during the acceleration it tends to do a slight rev before the shift. I have read around but I haven’t found any similar issues. What can I do to fix this?

When I first installed my CAI (years ago), I noticed some minor surging as well. After several restarts it went away. I assumed it was just part of the truck’s response to the change and it’s relearning process.
