Could you show pictures from back or front to see how wide the tires look? Also how much trimming was needed and does it still rub. Looking to get exact setup. Looks amazing

Has anyone run the Kenda Klever RT? Was looking at Ridge Grapplers, but the Klever also has a look I want.

Update on mine for those that have been asking how the ride is. The ride is definitely nowhere near like it was and its actually bad in some cases. I was completely expecting a firmer feel and actually wanted a bit more feel to it. I’ve got this annoying issue with the rear hopping all over all the time. I've tried a number of different air pressures all the way down to 30 in the rear cold and no better. The front is butter smooth. Unfortunately in CA, every highway is under construction and with the new tires it’s just a rough ride all the time. I’ve had them balanced 3 times now and even had 1 tire replaced for being impossible to get balanced. I've also had the level kit checked to make sure nothing came loose and everything torqued and no issues there. I even called Suspensionmaxx and had them go over things with me just to make sure something wasn't installed wrong by the shop. One thing they and the shop I worked with pointed out is that with the ARC system, it could be that the heavy duty tires coupled with the stock leaf springs which will deflect a lot more are causing the ride control to attempt to constantly smooth things out which is in turn exaggerating things. 

 

I am now looking at putting Deaver leaf springs. Their design is such that it should smooth out any leaf spring based suspension as they use many thinner leafs vs a few thick ones and that on its own will remove some of the natural truck bed bounce we all have anyway. I don’t need it back to stock as I actually prefer a bit more feel of the road but it’s no longer comfortable to drive above 70. Local driving up to 55 is fine but once you get up to highway speeds on anything that isn’t 1000% perfectly smooth it’s pretty annoying.

I think you are onto something with the ARC. You have to keep in mind that your new tire/wheel setup is probably close to 25lbs more of unsprung weight per corner due to the LT tires so they computer is having a hard time keeping up with that amount of rolling mass and constantly trying to adjust.

 

Nitto does make the Ridge Grappler in a P Metric XL 4 ply 305/55/20 which is about 18lbs lighter than your current tire. Only about .6" shorter too. Might be worth swapping to those - your ride quality should vastly improve.

I was running the 22s so this new setup is only about 12lbs more per wheel vs 25 but yes they are definitely heavier. I had originally looked at those 305/55s and while they are about .5 inch shorter (The 295/60/20 is a 34x11.5) they are also nearly 1 inch wider and there were concerns about rubbing with the offset of the wheel I chose - 20x9 +1 offset. Running those would also get me under the weight of the stock 22s and a shorter tire but I will have to do some measuring to see what another inch of tire does with rubbing on the UCA. I'm already getting a minor rubbing at full lock with these so anything wider will probably make that quite a bit worse.

Went back and double checked the wheel and tire weights comparing the OEM 22s vs my new setup. Its actually a 19lb difference (Stock is 85lbs total and current setup is 104lbs) so quite a difference. If I change out to a 305/55/20 Nitto that will drop this to 89lbs so only a 4lb increase over stock but a 15lb difference with my current setup. I must have mixed up one of the tires when I was originally researching all of this as I was looking at a ton of different combinations. I also measured the current amount of space between the current 295/60 tire (runs at 33.9 x 11.77 width per Nitto) and my UCA and its right about 1.75 inches on each side and that was measuring off of the raised tread blocks. The 305/55 runs at 33.2 x 12.44 wide on a 9.5 inch wheel which I think will settle more into a 12.25 on a 9 inch wheel plus they are a bit shorter. Should be plenty of room and I have already done a bit of mud flap trimming to better accommodate the 34 inch tires on there now. Needless to say I went ahead and ordered the 305/55/20 Nittos today with the shop I use agreeing to buy my originals back at a decent price as they only have about 1,500 miles on them. I wont have time to get this done until the end of the week at the earliest but will report back once its done.

Finally pulled trigger on tire upgrade. 285 50 22s. Look so much better than anemic 285 45s. Are 10 ply so do ride harsher and I'm sure are sucking more gas...but look great none the less. Went with Radar Renegade AT5. Got great price on EBay.

I asked this in the Mods forum but got zero response, can anybody answer?

 

I have a 2020 AT4 that came with the 18" wheels.  I'm going to upgrade to 20" after market rims with a +12 offset.  My question is can I go to a 285/55 or 285/60 without any problems?  The truck isn't leveled and I don't plan on doing it.

    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions? 
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!  
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?. 
    • He is not saying that an SAE *W20 will have more viscosity than a *W40 due to MORE VII polymers. He is saying that although multiple *W40 may post in the PDS the same or similar 100 C and 150 C viscosities that the blenders choice of modifier TYPE and AMOUNT to get his chosen base to grade will not give identical real world viscosities in shear and at temperature. All will pass the SII test but not all will pass the 100 C HTHS (unpublished value) testing the blender does and relies on to get the required by law "percentage improvement' referenced to his last great work.    Tis the problem with the lie. Once told others are required to support it. 
    • I have a `25, 1500 that auto sets on incline. Never knew that at first. I have the electronic shifter. Just think if it didn`t do that? Unlike a mechanical shift that you can muscle out of park, how would you get this thing out? That would be a problem.   What I found out later is, I don`t have to push the button to release. Just put it in gear.   Setting parameters? Don`t know if it`s possible.
