So you can get rearended?

I see people do a lot of dumb things and this is in the top few on the list.

With the current LED setups, I don’t see this being an issue. I’m planning on doing this to my AT4’s headlights, taillights and fogs. I’m going with light smoke however.

I’ve learned there are a lot of fuddy duddies on this forum. [emoji849]

I'm not talking about painting them with black paint. I'm talking about a light darkening. In my years as a cop, I've never met somebody who rear ended another car with slightly darker tail lights ?

Ain't that the truth.  I've noticed that about all truck forums unfortunately.  Everybody is a genius and everybody knows everything on these things ?

I agree with the LED taillights and maybe fogs, those can be seen as opposed to halogen. I was behind a black LTZ today, his taillights were blacked out, looked normal and when the brakes were applied, bright as well. Might do that to mine as well after seeing how well it can be seen.

Also depends on how dark you tint them as well. Now, I personally wouldn't do my headlights [emoji2369][emoji1]

I am old really old still thinking about tinting my taillights on a black AT4. I like the headlights and fogs so I will leave those but don’t get me started on 5 inch offsets and stubby antennas that look like a little penis.

Here you go for the differences in headlight tint and how it impacts light output. Not my video, just an example.

I installed one of those small antennas on my T1 today.  Nice to make it less obtrusive.

So when you look at an OEM antenna do you think of a long skinny penis?   ?  Not judging of course.

Stubby antennas as seen on a lot of vehicles who had them from the factory get away with a stubby antenna because of a preamplifier boosting the signal received. But the Pickup truck with a short antenna stuck on the factory mount by the front fender? NOT SO MUCH. They replaced it based on looks and now have shitty performance.

A friend that works for a body shop uses clear coat with a couple drops of black paint to give it a darker look while being completely safe still. You just need the right person doing it or have the means to do it right.

Like said the LED tail lights are the key to being safer, they are so much brighter. Like this example picture.

I have a stubby on mine and there is no difference in reception between the factory long @$$ one. You just have to get the right one(I love Amazon return policy) But with that said, I mostly stream music, so even if I had a crappy one, it won't matter, I've always replaced those coat hangers that come from the factory.
