I miss the text App

I really miss the text reading App in my 2019. Can't think of any reason GM decided to remove it!

 

I hope someone is listening!

 

There is something similar when using Android Auto but its not nearly as robust and I can't scroll back through recent messages or pick custom replies etc.

Never used the Android one, or the Apple one until this truck. I read there is an update for the Android Play.

There is a thread on this. Someone found an email contact where you can ask for your app back. I emailed, and 2 days later it was in my download section.

I emailed ExecReferral@gm.com and a day or two later I had the app available for download.

I think someone was saying it depends on when your truck was built. GM wasn't offering it anymore after a certain date. If you have an earlier truck, just email the above email and ask for your TEXT app to be placed back on your system.

 

Yes, it was a free app... no subscription

My truck was built 6/24/19 and I got it by sending an email...took 2 days after sending the email

Yay!!

 

Sent an email to the indicated address, got a follow up call a few days later to confirm my info, and voila! Text/Msgs App appeared for download. Installed an working.

 

Why they took it out, and have this process to get it back is beyond me, but it worked!
