Parts. & prices needed

Jesus christ lady, it's a truck with some badging. Don't get so bent out of shape over someone disagreeing with you. Maybe that is why people don't want to help you if you get so flustered so fast and start yelling through your keyboard or in real life.

That stuff above doesn't change the fact that the engine is still a 5.7 vortec and that is all that matters.

As said above, you can go to rock auto.com and find the parts you require.

So go the site, scroll down to Chevrolet, Click model year 2000, click Tahoe, click 5.7L engine. Then scroll down to "Exhaust and Emission", then down to O2 sensor.

You need two upstream o2 sensors and two downstream o2 sensors. Aka two before the cat converters, two after the cat converters.

AC delco are factory equipment parts for GM vehicle.

So your part numbers as you will see are AFS105 and AFS106.

I didn't look for the crank position sensor for you but I'm sure it's not hard to find. Remember, these are just the parts prices for anyone, the labor to install them can vary depending on where you go. Sometimes buying the parts can save you money.

Now Tina, take a chill pill and cool off for a minute.

Doesn't matter if it's an SS, an LS an LT or a base model.  All the 2000 Tahoe 5.7l are going to have the same crank sensor and the same o2 sensors.  My 2000 Escalade is still just a Tahoe with different badges. 99% of the parts are the same. The Tahoe limited was just a trim package with some suspension upgrades, an oil cooler, 120 mph gauge cluster and a few other things. Nothing related to the engine.

Guess all my paperwork & the GM owner's manual are all wrong ?  My local mechanic must be the village idiot & not know a darn thing about my truck ?! Oh , just a little FYI , my mechanic owns 2 Tahoes .

Let's just say that I have a right to be upset as a man tells me that I do NOT own what I own ... Check out my Facebook page & you'll see a picture of a TAHOE SS . Sooo , you can take a chill pill .

Please check out the photo on my facebook page & look up Tahoe SS ... Then tell me it's not a supersport . I do believe you're jealous because a woman paid cash for something you can't afford ! Oh btw , I bought it 3 years ago as a 50th birthday gift to myself & I paid cash !

I've heard of and seen the "Limited" Tahoe. That's what will probably come up if they check your VIN.

You've already gotten all the advice you need to get the parts you require. If you continue on this tirade about a set of badges someone stuck on for vanity reasons, all you're doing is proving your mechanic right.

Aside from the mindless banter, the parts/repair stuff in question should be answered. Getting the parts is rather simple and cheaper than a repair shop because there won't be mark up. Now it's either you putting your hands to work or paying somebody to install the parts for you.

my mechanic ? He says supersport , but thank you just the same . Oh & in case you didn't notice my earlier comment , I have an account with GM because I knew what the Tahoe was when I bought it AND "under my VIN #" , as you pointed out , GM in Detroit , saus "SUPERSPORT" , thank you so very much for trying to make me look stupid . I only asked a question about parts and prices , NOT anything else , HOWEVER , you men (in general) are the ones trying to tell me that the Tahoe SS doesn't exist . With that said . who's on a tirade & who is defending herself ?

OP is correct.  It is a Tahoe SS.  Here is a posting on cardomain.com back in 11/2013 from a user with a 2000 Tahoe Limited SS http://www.cardomain.com/ride/477337/2000-chevrolet-tahoe/

Last post and I am out

Read his description it even says it was going to be named and SS but changed to limited. His also has red SS badges. Badges can be added to any vehicle does t make it right. See a ton of Camaro’s with SS or ZL1 badges that aren’t correct

Lastly like it was stated previously the engine is no different between the models and the sites like rock auto will have the parts you may have to select another model and choose the 5.7 option.

    • I find it amusing the OP doesn’t realize this threads heading includes several engines. He should have posted in the off topic section if he wanted a more narrow focus. I really appreciate and find amusing that he actually pointed out one of my many vehicles. The Odyssey. That happens to use 0-20 oil. I love pushing his buttons.
    • Maybe, but it seems he is the only one that has backed up data to prove what he is stating. I think he is doing this more because he enjoys it and wants to get the information out to us. He's got the knowledge and access to the proper equipment and having the funds doesn't hurt.  I would love to do what he is doing and would do it if and when I hit the Powerball.  I'm not a Tribologist by any means but love to learn what I can.   I would bet there would be doubting people out there if a completely independent lab with high quality work and highly respected in the automotive industry, put out information like this.  The world can't be pleased, one just has to take the information that they are given, do more of their own research to find actual lab data to back up what they are trying to figure/find out.  Most don't bother, they just want to believe what they first see.     I don't have the minimax but my 6.2 in my 2019 Silverado with 64k miles shows excellent UOA results with 0w-20 and for my own purposes 5w-20.  Since not much of a change using 5w. I liked the data sheet information on the SS 5w-20 and figured I would give it a try.  Still the same viscosity at 100℃.   In the end we all just do what makes us happy, life is too short to get upset over trivial social media.   On a side note, I do feel GM has dropped the ball and just cares about the bottom dollar and not quality anymore.  "Like a Rock" has been long gone.  Seems "Built Ford Tough" has as well.
    • Better than stock but that's like putting lipstick on a pig
    • Hello, my 3 month old Sierra Elevation wont recognize a trailer with electric brakes? All the lights work correctly, but no power to the brakes?   This is the factory installed brake controller. If you manually push the knob, the display shows the power % but does not light up like my 2022 silverado.   I have an appointment with the dealer, but was checking to see if anyone else has seen this issue.    Thanks,
    • Been using SS 0w-20 from new, but wanted to change to the 5w-20 because I liked the data on the data sheet, to me it seems like a little better product. But as you can see, not much difference. This is also with running a mix of 10 gallons E85 to a tank topped with 93. It isn't a flex fuel vehicle so any higher I get a CEL for running lean on both banks. Yes my mileage takes a hit. Instead of 20 mpg I normally get on trips I get 17mpg. This is also using EaO17 filter.  What is amazing is I have the AMSOIL cone filter on it since I have the GM Performance intake installed and that air filter has 44k miles on it.  I just take it out and shop vac it off once a year.  I use the upholstery tool on my shop vac.  Works well.
