Thanks Brian.  I think the camera is bad.  I have the Blazer mirror hooked up and the long cable hooked up to the spoiler camera only and nothing.  I even put it in drive to make sure that wasnt an issue.  Thats the  bad thing about used parts.

what is part number on your actual camera, not lense, it may be a bed view cam and not rear view mirror cam.

Sorry.  Will check when I get home.  I went ahead and ordered the 84487008 as the dealer said he could have it tomorrow.  What is the part# on your Blazer mirror?

Well I got the new third brake light with the camera and it still does not work.  I guess I will buy another cable in case this one is DOA before I spend the $$ on a new mirror.

Well, I finally had a weekend off to do the install, but after reading about some DOA parts i said I better test them first before pulling down the whole headliner.  As it turns out, the mirror I thought I got a great deal on won't even power up.  I know its not the connector because I already had purchased an auto dim mirror when I got the truck and it works perfect.  I guess I should get a new part instead of a take off part.  Now I wait for the refund before I get the new one.

I did the mod on my 2010 camaro 2ss rs. Surprisingly the connector was in the headrest from factory even tho that year didn't have the backup camera as a option. Can someone post a pic of the connector and i will look on my mirror.

I got my new mirror yesterday and everything works fine now.  I would assume this means that the Gen 1 mirror wont work unless you are using a gen 1 camera out of a cadillac or something.   Now I just need to get the headliner down and finish the install.

One thing I did try was to see if you could make the cable longer and yes you can!  I gently cut off the black plastic piece on the end that does into the mirror and then plugged it into the blue connector and it works fine.  You will have to tape it up to keep things together.  This means you can use 2 of the cables, a mirror & the taillight camera assy to do this job.    IMG_1422.jpg.63cfd8f1cb1dbba319420ec8ae2ea906.jpg

When you guys change the mirror do you lose your auto dimming side view mirrors?  The standard mirror has the sensor in it for all 3.

    • Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.
    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
