I’m sorry I worded this poorly,

I installed the gm Cai MYSELF, then brought the truck over to the dealership for a RE-TUNE.

the dealership is trying to charge me for the re-tune

This is what I’m saying, I installed it myself and brought to dealership for re-tune, should be covered right ?

Yes, as long as you have the code for them that came with the CAI,  They will use that to update the computer and charge GM.

I installed mine also.  I took the truck in yesterday.  Took the dealer about an hour because they were busy.  Showed them my paperwork from where I bought it and no charge, no problems.  The billing number they use is on your paperwork.  I really did not notice any improved throttle response but the idle is smoother.  FYI the speed limiter on the 6.2L is set at 112MPH, have to find a way around that.  No tuners out there yet.

Please purchase a custom driveshaft first. They are the weak-link and the reason for the speed limiter, that and OEM tire ratings. Many K2 guys found this out the hard way.

Interesting, I did not know that and did not have any issues with the aluminum driveshaft on my 2015 K2.  Most of the speed limiter are set due to tire speed rating plus a truck really has no business going that fast.  With that said, it was pulling real hard until the rev limiter cut the engine down. I love this new 6.2L engine.

You speed is limited to the tires that shipped with the truck.  My 6.2 is limited to 98 (TB with duratracs).

Right, but they must apply some unknown GM formula also, to give themselves a big pad on prospective warranty claims.  My last new Z71 was governed to 96mph which was 86% of the capability of it's "S" (112mph) rated Dueler A/T's.

If you hit the speed limiter at wide open throttle it'll throw you forward in your seat because of the sudden stop in acceleration. Been there, done that.

I don't know of anything other than the tire rating.  The duratracs (according to goodyear website) that come on the TB/AT4 have a speed rating of 99.
