Here are a few pictures of my install. It actually works like it was planned. I measured how much camera coax cable I needed (distance from the trailer to the bumper plug) at the most extreme turning angle of the truck with the trailer. That amount of wire harness was right about 5 ft. I then decided on using that coiled yellow trailer plug/harness and routed the camera cable through the coiled wire. I even plugged that into the bumper to help secure it to the truck. The other end of that coiled wire goes through that round cable holder and its secured to the trailer along with the camera coax cable. You can see that I used a wire tie to keep the camera coax from being pushed out and looping at that location. You can see the loop in the camera cable coax up near the bumper which is exactly where I want that. One of the pictures shows me pulling/stretching the cable like it would stretch as if you were turning sharp. I then let the cable go and it goes back in place with the loop near the tailgate. That yellow trailer harness sole purpose is to keep the 5 ft. of camera cable coax from dragging on the pavement and it works very well.

bsmall1564 - How did you attach the camera to the trailer?  I was surprised when I unboxed the camera that they sent bolts to attach the camera to the trailer.  Did you use screws with washers instead?

Yes you can, I would just experiment the height you chose to make sure you get the image you want. Someone mentioned that they had a fisheye effect on their image and lowered the camera a little until they lost that effect. 
I mounted mine high and my image was great. 

 

I’ll also add that I’m rerunning the way I ran the cable to the bumper plug after I pulled the coax line out of the plug. 
I thought I allowed enough cable for tight turns on my fifth wheel but didn’t.

I ran into the same issue. Thought that I had enough cable on my gooseneck trailer but broke the coax going into the connector when I pulled the trailer out of the barn and went around my circle drive. I was excited to show my wife the new camera and it was blank when I pulled up the screen - went back to the connector and found the coax had broken off. 

 

I ordered a replacement connector to go into the coax. Also ordering the extension from Pasternack - I'm going go ahead and move the connectors into the bed although I was hoping someday to get cameras on some of my bumper pull trailers.

One drawback is you won't be able to use the markings on the side of the bracket to line up the camera because the camera will be in a different position. I was able to eyeball the angle and it worked fine though.

I have a 26' Travel Trailer so the cable length and hookups were perfect for my setup. Instead of drilling holes for the camera mount, I attached it to the camper with 3M super strength vehicle molding tape. I also placed the camera bracket upside down to avoid having the loop of cable out the top of the camera. I painted the cable white to try and blend it in a bit to the color of the camper. I also bought an extra Camco battery box to hold all of the slack cable at the front of the camper - I just drilled a couple holes on either side of the box to run the cable through. I used Cool J's tip to run the cable underneath through 1/2" non-metallic Liquidtight Flexible Conduit through some of the camper frame cutouts and I attached it in a couple spots with a some Line Clamps. 

 

Took it on a trip over the holiday weekend and it all worked great - love having the rear view transparent trailer option.

Did you have to take the camera apart to get it into the 1/2" non-metallic Liquidtight Flexible Conduit ????

      I find it amusing the OP doesn’t realize this threads heading includes several engines. He should have posted in the off topic section if he wanted a more narrow focus. I really appreciate and find amusing that he actually pointed out one of my many vehicles. The Odyssey. That happens to use 0-20 oil. I love pushing his buttons.

      Maybe, but it seems he is the only one that has backed up data to prove what he is stating. I think he is doing this more because he enjoys it and wants to get the information out to us. He's got the knowledge and access to the proper equipment and having the funds doesn't hurt.  I would love to do what he is doing and would do it if and when I hit the Powerball.  I'm not a Tribologist by any means but love to learn what I can.   I would bet there would be doubting people out there if a completely independent lab with high quality work and highly respected in the automotive industry, put out information like this.  The world can't be pleased, one just has to take the information that they are given, do more of their own research to find actual lab data to back up what they are trying to figure/find out.  Most don't bother, they just want to believe what they first see.     I don't have the minimax but my 6.2 in my 2019 Silverado with 64k miles shows excellent UOA results with 0w-20 and for my own purposes 5w-20.  Since not much of a change using 5w. I liked the data sheet information on the SS 5w-20 and figured I would give it a try.  Still the same viscosity at 100℃.   In the end we all just do what makes us happy, life is too short to get upset over trivial social media.   On a side note, I do feel GM has dropped the ball and just cares about the bottom dollar and not quality anymore.  "Like a Rock" has been long gone.  Seems "Built Ford Tough" has as well.

      Hello, my 3 month old Sierra Elevation wont recognize a trailer with electric brakes? All the lights work correctly, but no power to the brakes?   This is the factory installed brake controller. If you manually push the knob, the display shows the power % but does not light up like my 2022 silverado.   I have an appointment with the dealer, but was checking to see if anyone else has seen this issue.    Thanks,

      Been using SS 0w-20 from new, but wanted to change to the 5w-20 because I liked the data on the data sheet, to me it seems like a little better product. But as you can see, not much difference. This is also with running a mix of 10 gallons E85 to a tank topped with 93. It isn't a flex fuel vehicle so any higher I get a CEL for running lean on both banks. Yes my mileage takes a hit. Instead of 20 mpg I normally get on trips I get 17mpg. This is also using EaO17 filter.  What is amazing is I have the AMSOIL cone filter on it since I have the GM Performance intake installed and that air filter has 44k miles on it.  I just take it out and shop vac it off once a year.  I use the upholstery tool on my shop vac.  Works well.
