Side Detection Temporarily Unavailable after rear end collision

Recommended Posts

*New to Forum *First Post I was involved in a rear end collision this morning that damaged mainly my rear bumper. This afternoon I was driving down the highway , and alert popped up saying “Side Detection temporarily unavailable”. I’m trying to figure out if the sensors were possibly damaged in the collision. Taking my yukon in for an inspection of damage tomorrow and want to make sure I include anything that could relate to the accident . Anyone know where the side detection sensors are located?

Near the sides of the rear bumper, so a damaged rear bumper would potentially affect the sensors.

Tell the adjuster about the error message and hopefully they include that in your repair order without the shop having to replicate the error.
