Essentially the same thing.... I'd go with Borla personally.  And S-type over Touring... Perfect amount of low tones.

Maybe someone can correct me but i think the Borla is a little louder then the GM Perf. Muffler?  Here is my uncles truck with the GM PERF Exhaust and Intake.

I put the Borla touring on and am very happy with it. I wanted something just a little louder than the factory but not noticeable when cruising. I choose it over the GMPP mainly because of price.

They are very similar. I have the GM version and Im happy with it. Can’t go wrong with either if you are looking for a more mild sound upgrade.

Very happy with the GM performance exhaust on my 6.2. loud deep cold start, great V8 growl when I step on it, but not loud at cruise. Little rumble while towing, but not bad at all.

borla makes the gm performance exhaust, i was thinking that it is a re stamped s type but it might be the touring ( it was a few months back when i was looking into the exhaust). if you go with the s type it is the same as the atak. the difference is the secondary muffler on the s type behinde the primary and polyphonic harmonizer behindthe muffler on the atak.

Have the Borla Touring . Rotfab Intake. 5.3. Mainly went with the Borla because of the price. Love the sound. Still getting 20 mpg highway. Cruse set at 76mph.

I went with the Corsa Dual Sport Exhaust today. Pulled the plug on it. I wanted the sound to be a bit louder than GM's performance exhaust. I called Borla today on their S-type but they don't have it for a Crew Cab standard bed. I had Gibson on my last truck and loved that deep tone it had, but they also don't offer it for my truck. So I went with Corsa, and after research I think I will be happy.(Fingers Crossed)

Had a 10% COUPON code so I got the exhaust for $1300 and my S & B CAI is still on back order, supposed to be here August 15th. So $1650 in all for both.

My buddy has always put Corsa on all his vehicles, and I have enjoyed the sound from them.

Can only comment on the GM Performance Exhaust. I would recommend it if looking for a better sound over stock. It really sounds great when you get on it in sport mode. Then hardly noticable on hwy speeds.

So which one is better between S-type and Atak.  I want a low mean rumble. Worried the S-type will be to quite and the Atak will be too loud lol.  6.2L if that matters.

I have the GMPP exhaust and intake on a 6.2L and I like the sound like others are saying...loud-ish at start-up and acceleration but quiet cruising.

I often think about possibly switching to the S-type for a bit more sound...but the wife and kids may not like it...

Honestly I really enjoy the Atak. If it is too loud you and add the second muffler and turn it into the s type

I'm another with the GMPP exhaust, but I also have the GMPP CAI too. It's quiet while crossing at highway speed, but put the throttle down and it rumbles to life.

I had my GMPE installed a little over a week ago. I love the sound. It's really perfect for me.

However, this is my first exhaust system on a truck, and I cannot tell if what I am hearing is drone or just the exhaust itself? Around 1500-1800 RPM cruising between 65-80mph, it really has this steady hum to it when you're driving on relatively flat roads, but with slight inclines.

You can hear it here around 40 seconds - but listen to the first 40 seconds to get a perspective for the cabin sound before the "drone-ish" sound comes in.

    • On 2021 3500hd it consistently sets automatically when selecting park if the incline/decline is above a certain angle.
    • Curious, did anyone ever get a fix for the vibration reported here.   I have a 2024 Silverado with 6.6 duramax.   I’m noting the same vibration resonating up through the steering shaft into the steering wheel.    Best way to describe- like someone is tapping on the steering shaft/components and it’s resonating into the steering wheel.    thanks.
    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions?
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
