Have the borla Touring . When I first installed it . Going on the highway up slight long inclines for a good distance you will here a hum that sounds like a drone. Which I would say it is. I was like what have I done to my new truck.  But I got used to it really fast. It just fads away over time. Love the sound when I get on it.  You will get used to it.

Pretty sure the GMPE and the Borla Touring are exactly the same.  Regardless I love my GMPE.  Growls to life on a cold start but isn't going to wake the neighbors.  My daughter tells me she likes it w

Thanks. Yeah, I love the whole system and sound overall. And I’ve already noticed the hum/drone/whatever has started to lessen. It seems that it’s not as prevalent when the truck is cooler, too. ??‍♂️
 

But I’ve read that some of the faint droning does go away on these, if you have it.

I have the Borla touring exhaust and really like it. Mainly purchased it due to price over GM. Stealer-ship wanted $2200 , while the Borla was $1500 installed locally. Definitely notice a slight drone at 65-70 but I'm getting used to it. I've got 1,000 miles on it and seems like the tones of the exhaust are getting better. Noticeable difference when i switch from touring to sport mode, which is great.

I haven't been around a 6.2 with either of these exhaust systems yet to hear how they sound in person.  Has anyone heard them in comparison to the Toyota TRD Performance dual exhaust?  I had this on my last tundra with the 5.7 and was wondering how the GMPE compared in tone and volume to the TRD exhaust?

I believe the GMPE and the Borla Touring are the EXACT same systems.  Also, I do not hear any drone at all in mine.  The sound I hear in the video above is nothing more than exhaust "sound?  Drone is caused by a certain frequency resonating in the cab.

I would just get a Borla CrateMuffler.  I got the Atak CrateMuffler for $250.  According to Borla they are only made for Crate engines like small block Chevy 350 and 383 but it sounds great to me and no drone.  Cold start is loud but other than that it quiets down quiet a bit.  No drone and very tame on the highway and even in the city unless you punch it a little.

Anyone with the 6.2 done the Active Noise Cancellation calibration?  I've read there is a calibration for the GM Performance Exhaust since the 6.2 has ANC and curious if anyone has done this and if the dealer would be familiar with it?  Mine is still on backorder so once it comes in I'm going to ask the dealer about ANC calibration.   I assume this would help with any drone?

I’m curious about this too because it seems like mostly the 6.2 guys having drone.

Nope, it was never done on mine when I had it installed, never heard of anyone else getting it on a T1, haven’t even seen it referenced in the listings for the T1 catbacks. Just the K2s.

Just noticed it a bit for the first time the other night on the highway. Didn’t really bother me that much. Was mild enough to forget about it after noticing. I think I had to turn down the radio to even figure out what it was. Haha 

 

6.2 with the Touring here as well. Totally love the exhaust overall. Wouldn’t change a thing.

      I just bought this. A minimum for me but, I don`t work anymore and don`t want the heavy update costs of the higher end tools.       I have an Autel, works great for what it is. Can't do some specific things because you need say the GM tool, VCDS for Audi/Volkswagon and others of course. But those times are few and far between for me.   The other tool I'd like to try one day is the new Topdon scan tools. Seen several video's on them and many youtube people review them.    I've never subscribed for updates or payed to do that stuff on my Autel, so I'm sure I'm missing out on some of the updates but I'm fine with that for now.

      I am in the market for a bidirectional scan tool so was hoping someone can help point me in the right direction. There are so many options out there it is hard to narrow down which make/model to choose.   I have always done my own vehicle work so looking to maximize capability with the scanner. Ideal price is $1k or less but would be willing to exceed if it opens up significant benefits.  Currently my 24 2500 is the newest vehicle but also have a few mid to late 2010s Subarus as well.    It seems that the Autel MP900 has a decent amount of features at a reasonable price?

      There was talk over the last couple of years that the contract to build these trucks between GM and International would not be renewed.  International moved production of all their other trucks besides the companion CV model out of the Springfield plant some time ago when they opened their San Antonio plant.  That left Springfield only building the Silverado Medium Duty, International CV Series, and some Express/Savanna long wheelbase cutaways.  International also put the plant up for sale some time ago.  This all answered my earlier question as to why GM and International did nothing with these trucks since they were introduced, as they had basically become a market 'placeholder' with a finite life.    The Silverado Medium Duty/International CV trucks were interesting combination of a GM powertrain, electrical system, and K2XX Silverado cab with an International chassis that was supposedly designed for a step-van type vehicle they never produced.  They were manufactured in International's Springfield plant along with the IH MV series initially.  When first introduced, there was much talk that the Silverado Medium Duty/CV would eventually get a gasoline engine option along with other upgrades and GM and IH would work on a class 6/7 joint venture truck.  This was before VW bought Navistar out, after that happened no more was said.  Draw your own conclusions...   About the time talk started that the GM/IH joint venture was not going to be renewed, rumors started that GM would develop a new line of medium duty trucks themselves.  The story is the new trucks will be part of the next generation HD's due in 2028, and will still feature a 'straight rail' chassis design that the current medium duty has.  GM views this as a desirable feature that differentiates their truck from the competition.  A gasoline engine option is also expected.  As the current Silverado Medium Duty remains in production until September 2026 and there is still a lot of inventory available do not expect any official word for some time.   I believe GM remains committed to their successful partnership with Isuzu, and all the LCF models will still be available from Chevy Commercial dealers.  Isuzu is on the cusp of opening a new large plant in South Carolina and there is also speculation that this may result in new product for both Isuzu and Chevy Commercial dealers.
