2014 Silverado License plate fuze/light issue

Question

Hello,

I have a 2014 Silverado 1500. My license plate lights are not working I recently bought  new bulbs and assumed they worked, but after checking out my truck the other night I realized they aren’t on, I cannot seem to find a fuze for these lights, should I buy bulbs first or check a fuze? And does any know where to find the fuze for these lights

There is a second fuse panel on the left side of dash behind an access panel that is accessible with the door open in addition to the panel under the hood.  I would check all fuses, use a test light,, connect the wire to a good ground and use the probe to check the two open holes in the top of the fuse.  You will see power on both sides of the fuse if it is good.

If your running lights are operating, then the fuse is fine. Plate lights run on that circuit.

You need to remove whatever bulb isn't working AND check for both power and ground at the plug. If both are out, you probably have an electrical problem, but check the bulbs anyway. When chasing wiring, focus on any connections, and chaffe points.
