Just wondering how long people were going with their mono tube ranchos before putting in bilsteins or another shock.  I just rolled over 6000km and they seem to be riding rougher and tougher.

just wanted to some insight on how long y’alls were lasting

You sure it's not just the crappy tires that get slapped on at the factory?

Worn shocks usually don't make the truck ride rougher and tougher, they make the truck seem soft and loose like a pontoon boat that floats everywhere with a tremendous amount of slow speed rebound.  if the ride seems harsher, check tire pressure and fittings

2019 RST with 7000 miles rides like it does not have any shocks on it. I have a 96 Silverado that rides 10 times better, It came with Bilsteins on it. The 2019 also badly needs Sway Bars on it.

Again the 1996 Rides Flat here in the mountains compared to the 2019 that leans extremely bad in the curves

That’s odd. I have a LT 19. king 3.0 IBP coilover front, king 3.0 IBP rears  and stock sway bar. It rides like a dream. (Respectfully) Get some good shocks is my point And it will dramatically help. I absolutely love how the truck rides. The internal bypass feature allows for the truck to ride one way on the street and activate higher compression and higher rebound bypass off road (full disclosure I rarely go off road and when I do it’s slow)

I have 13K on my truck and the shocks are starting to feel a little too soft on the front end and I hear them on occasion.  The wear on them seems to be a little premature, but I don't mind too much, I already have their replacements I just haven't had a chance to install them.  I'll preface that comment with the fact that I am really starting to like the softer ride of the factory Rancho shocks just fine and think they do a good job in slower off road situations.

Mine lasted around 30k miles but looked 20 years old on the outside.

I called them my pogo sticks and happily switched to Bilstein 5100s.

I’ve got 3000 km on my 2019 z71, it has a levelling kit in the front and 275 70/18 BFG KO tires. I travel off road to a hunting camp, on a extremely ruff road, the truck drove well new but now it’s all almost hard to drive at 80 to 100km down some of the country type roads, truck is floating all over the place. I think the shocks are gone, maybe hydrolocked or something. I’m just debating taking it to the dealer, or just buying new shocks. I’ve only had the truck 7 weeks......I,d like to hear from people that installed the Bilstien 5100 shocks and what they thought of them.

My rancho rear shocks on my 2020 Z71 are already super soft and rolley after 26k miles. I've ordered Bilstien 5100's for the rear and will report back. Lots of good reviews on them out there.

Luck of the draw. I have 75 K on my factory Rancho's. Mountain roads so lots of curves and dirt roads with washboard. Towing so the rears get weight. Still going, no leaks and not soft.

Update, If your rear end feels soft and rolls in the corner, the shocks are toast. After changing my crap ranchos out for Bilstein's it's a whole new truck now.. My ranchos would barley even rebound. I rarely tow or go offroad in Houston. 26k is all i got out of my rears. Fronts still seem firm and working properly. You'd think with Z71 they'd put some better shocks on these trucks

Glad I took my Rancho's off 1200mi ago. I put the Eibach kit on mine and agree, its rides like a whole new truck. This is how it should have rode new.
