If it's just the console I wonder if we will be able to swap it into the current trucks... or the infotainment. The biggest thing I want from the new interior is the wireless carplay, but I don't want a push button shifter. I got a hell of deal on my truck and I don't want to trade it in just for something like wireless carplay that we should have had already built in

I consider this to be a big "Yawn"....I agree with the folks who prefer the column shifter...while the passenger side dash of the 2021 looks kinda sleek, I'm not a fan of the TV screen. The 2020 interior works fine for me. Everything is intuitive and within reach, and I like the firm support of the seats. Coming from a 2015 LT with the 60/40 to buckets in my 2020. The only complaint I had was no tray in the console box. $60 for a tray?? come on, thats lame!

I agree that GM did a disservice to the WT and Customs by removing the storage from the armrest. The lower storage in the '15 was perfect place for a CC.

Lines look cleaner but the dash looks kind of goofy pushed out like that.

Honestly doesn't look that good. Agree with the guy that said that said that tablet infotainment systems are a fad. The tablet sitting over the dash height is not a good look. The massive amount of buttons on the driver side also make it look cheap. GMC needs to find a way to integrate some of the buttons (that you don't use on the reg) into the infotainment system.

I personally like how my '19 looks. Sure they could be nicer but this looks like a step in the wrong direction IMO.

I actually don't like the column shifter, but I think I hate the push-button even more.  I actually preferred the console shifter in my F-150, though it's kind of a waste of space.  Not sure why some think a column shifter is any more or less "truck-worthy", other than for nostalgia purposes.  I mean, didn't all cars have them, not just trucks?

Never had a column shifter before my Silverado......

My wife always laughs at me when I reach for the center section to shift into Drive. ?

Hard to train your brain something different when it's almost an instinctive move.

The screen makes me think it looks kind of Honda-like at first glance.

Gear buttons look a little goofy like that.  I like a little technology, and would prefer they do something a little snazzier on the gauge set-up, similar to what Audi Virtual Cockpit has done for their main gauge cluster with multiple options.  The rounded off gauges on my GMC give me a dated feel.  +1 for the column shifter on a trucks.

Earlier comments on this thread are going to make me look into the Denali dash/console.

I actually like the gear changes to be on dash . This is best way to get rid of the column shiftier but still have room for multiple cup holders and a big area for your other items besides the center console.

Also the GM gauges on both GMC and Chevy models are sooooo boring. Even my Denali is ehhhh.

Not that it matters, the article only mentions the console. But the SUVs have the same exact cluster as our trucks anyway.

I know, this is what I wanted to see changed. It’s a simple set up that works, but boring

So glad that GM is sticking with physical switches when they should (volume, climate, heated seats, etc). I do think that having the tech package gauge cluster standard would go a long way towards modernizing the overall look of the interior, that little rectangular screen on the standard trucks looks very 2010.

That said, I hate that the benchmark is the well-made but incredibly tacky ram interior that puts form way over function. I was surprised the Ram dealer wasn't throwing in some windex and a box of q-tips with every sale because that thing looked like a nightmare when it came to maintenance with the soon to be greasy screen and the seemingly hundreds of not that useful nooks and crannies in that truck.

You young'uns crack me up. Everything doesn't have to be a bright and shiny object. ? They're gauges. Accurate data is what I want from them...  ?

The console? I guess for me, as far as this interior’s shortcomings go, the center console is way down on the list. And the SUV one doesn’t look all that much different from the one in my 19. I’m sure the SUV one is a bit less plastic-y and cheap feeling, but the general look is close. The problems start above the console.

It definitely looks like a refreshed look. The only two major differences I see are the screen and the shifter and I absolutely hate the non-column shifter. That's part of the reason why I didn't even look at the Ram when I purchased my truck. It seems like the newer trucks are going away from column shifters. Pretty sad in my opinion.

Is there something I’m missing here? Why does everyone who sees this article assume it’s getting the whole SUV interior...it says center console. The thing between the seats. Not the screen. Not the push button shifter.
