I changed the front pads and now I have a bunch of warning lights and messages like the speed being limited to 43 mph, traction control is off, abs light is on ect.... What do I need to do next?

^^^ This

I would bet that these trucks are a little more than just a pad swap and require them to be hooked up to a computer to reset something. There is a brake life monitor on the truck and it is probably tied into that.

Did you use OEM pads?  If you didn't use OE pads, did whatever you get have the wear sensors?

I’m banking that you unknowingly damaged the ABS sensors.

+1 on abs sensor or wheel speed sensor. The K2s actually had a recall for faulty wheel speed sensors. The brake wear sensor is actually a dummy light not based on actual pad material left and calculates (guesses) life left from what I’ve read.

If you have a scan tool go in and clear the codes. I had the same issue when adding a lift kit the caliper fell ripped the wires out of the connection. Took it apart wired it back in plugged it together after i reinstalled then i Noticed the engine light scanned it and it pulled codes for TC, ESC, and basically everything u saw on the information system. I cleared it and restarted the truck and bam all good. Idk if removing it causes it to go all wacky or if its because I had a dipshit moment and didn't secure the caliper. Also i have the amp research power steps and they plug into the obd port had my truck in for an oil change and to check the breaks because they screch like hell when i first get in well when I got in from the dealership I noticed the obd plug in was disconnected thats what lead me to run a scan tool this time. Hope there is some useful information here

I feel this is one of the biggest shortfall of forums. Too often people post their issues and never come back and share the solution.

I agree.  This forum is filled with people becoming members because they have a problem with a new truck, making a handful of posts because they are looking for an answer , and never coming back.

When you compress the piston back in and turn the key on the brake control module thinks there is a pressure loss so it sets codes and displays messages.  Just pump the brake pedal until firm then clear all the codes.

I just changed the front brake pads on a friends 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT 2WD and had the same issue.  You will need a scan tool to reset the codes after pumping the brakes.  I could not get it to reset by disconnecting the negative battery cable.    I had codes U0100, U0101, and U0146.  Everything returned to normal after reset.

Good Grief GM.  Lets put your truck in limp mode when ever you do your own brakes.  What's next resetting codes after an oil change?
