Why do people even show their 25 mile distance display.... It's not even close to a real number in reality!
Show me 100 miles or more.
Any one can "coast" the truck for 25-50 miles to have a mpg number that looks good, but isn't real world driving.

I took a trip from NC to NY in December. I typically drive 5-9 mph over the speed limit. Here is a true tank to tank mileage log. In mixed city driving the instrument panel typically shows 22-25 mpg.

I've driven 12,386.6 miles in my '20 RST 4wd since I got it in October (had 146 miles on it). My best tank mpg was 29.349 mpg. My worst tank was 20.351 while pulling a 18' box trailer moving my grandp

What's your hand calculated mileage?    I'm getting about 650-700 miles per tank with my 3.0.

Same reason they talk about how much they paid for the truck. You're not gonna get an honest answer with either topic.

That's why I read this thread even though my truck has a 6.2.

Btw, my best 25 mile mpg is 33.1; 50 mile is 23.9; and 400 mile is 20.X.

I average 23-24 in the summer, its been about 20 this winter so far, but ive been pulling a small enclosed every weekend. Plus i have the 3.73 gears. I still average about 30 mpg on stricly highway at 55-60 mpg

I have a new 2021 AT4 with the 3.0 diesel with 1,000 miles on it now.

 

Took a trip to the mountains and back this past weekend. On the way home down through the pass I got 45mpg on the 25 mile average. Obviously that's just for fun.

 

The whole 317 mile trip home averaged 25 mpg and an average speed of 64mph, stopped once to pee and didn't shut the truck off. 4 hours and 57 minute trip.

 

This was with a pretty good wind pushing me maybe 80% of the way too.

 

TBH I'm a little disappointed in it. I was hoping for an average of 30mpg since it was downhill (mostly) and a tailwind (mostly). I haven't hand calculated any MPG's yet and probably won't. 


The only thing I have added is a bed cover.

I'm still not sure why people are getting bad fuel mileage. I don't beat the truck, but I don't drive like grandma either. This is winter blend fuel and the truck running 5-10 minutes every morning to warm up. This is ONE tank of fuel.

That tank was probably 85% highway and 15% city.

 

The Trip 2 picture below (330.9 miles) is my current tank. It is probably 75% highway and 25% city driving. Trip 1 picture (822.1 miles) is my weeks mileage. I reset Trip 1 before I move the truck on Monday to get an idea of how many miles I drive during the week (M-S). Trip 1 is closer to 85% highway and 15% city driving for the week.

 

I also have let the truck run for 5-8 minutes each morning this week as I do every day during the winter.

Thanks for the info. That is very good mileage considering I have a Honda Pilot with a V-6 and I only get 22 to 25 mpg.

 

What model do you have? LT, RST or LTZ?

This truck gets better than my wife's '20 Equinox with the 2.0T.

 

It is 2020 RST Crew Cab Short Bed 4wd.

i just came down the mountain in big bear, CA.....tow haul mode so very little braking (amazing how well it works though my 2500s tow/haul was bit more aggressive)

 

50 MPG in a 5.3l coasting down the hill, lol.......never see that again

      I agree, simplicity and reliability matter more as vehicles get more complicated. A V8 work truck option with fewer electronic features and a stronger warranty would definitely appeal to a lot of buyers who use their trucks for real work. Customizing it with trusted outfitters is often the best way to get exactly what you need.webcrimsNY

      I’ve heard similar complaints from newer vehicles where the factory “premium” systems don’t always live up to expectations. A good installer should be able to improve the sound without turning it into a bass-heavy setup. I’d look into upgrading the front speakers, adding a quality DSP amplifier, and possibly improving sound deadening first—those changes usually make a much bigger difference than just adding a subwoofer. Hopefully someone local can recommend a reputable installer in the Las Vegas/St. George area.

      Do you remember that Harley Davidson was more successful (solvent) when it produced about 60% of the market demand (by design) and forced wait times of up to three years? Even when your turn came around it was, "Take what we are giving you or move to the back of the line and start over". HUGE markup's were 'normalized' and dealer killed. 40% markup and no floor plan? What's not to love? Greed will kill them yet. They have surplus production and customer base is tanking. And still they think nosebleed pricing will work.

      The engine was done as part of the 6.2 recall?   You'd have to see if your VIN also has the 6.2 engine special coverage on it.  Coverage number is N252494003.  If you have this, your engine is covered under this and NOT the GM replacement part engine warranty which is 3yr/100k from the date of install.  The 3yr/100k mi warranty is in effect for non warranty purchases.     This is not any different if it was replaced under warranty without a recall or special coverage.  So if you had a 5.3 and it popped at 3 years in at 50,000mi during the 5yr/60k powertrain, the replacement engine would not get the 3yr/100k, and instead gets the remainder of the 5yr/60k as coverage.     So N252494003 gives 10 years or 150,000mi of coverage, which ever comes first, starting at the vehicle in service date.  So if your in service date is 01/01/2022, N252494003 gives you special coverage of the engine until 01/01/2032 or 150,000mi, whichever comes first.  So if your start date was 01/01/2022, you'd have left 5 years and 4 months (lets round to august 1st), or 62,000mi left of coverage.   So you need to know your in service date to know how much coverage is left.

      Okiee dokie there bud, way to take things to the extreme.   I guess you missed the whole point and take things way to serious. I installed different EV6 style injectors that just so happen to be larger in my car running the same LQ4 engine and with a better spray pattern than the stock style injectors and I noticed no difference in the idle quality. Kinda was my round about way of saying that even if you put the same size but better style injectors in your truck, you will likely see the same thing.    I'm sure you're great to have conversations with in person if that's how you act through a keyboard. One little things sets you off and now I guess my dick is all up in your face.
