Just wanted to give everybody the timeline I experienced going through my dealer here in Houston. Overall I could not have asked for a quicker turn around.

01/28 Ordered through Westpoint Gmc here in Houston

02/11 GM emailed saying my order was picked up for production. Order # BJBT9W

03/07 Dealer received an email stating my truck build was completed and in transit.

03/18 Truck arrived at Dealer

03/19 Drove the new truck back to the house.

Like the new truck but miss some of the stuff i had in my old AT4. Mainly garage door buttons, 12v cig lighter for radar detector, the unlock buttons on the rear door handles.

How the world can’t it have garage door buttons??  Come on GM!?!?

Also with the retro fit heated steering wheel for -$25.  Do you have to pay money when the chip comes in??  I have a really hard time believing that chip only cost $25 when they start producing them again!

Nice color choice! Love that new interior. Congrats.

Garage door buttons are part of an optional package on AT4, I think it’s the convenience package that also gives you the sliding rear window.

Retro fit for the steering wheel is reported to be free of charge.

The no rear door entry buttons is annoying. I think they were standard on the 19-22ltd AT4. Although maybe that was a convenience package item as well?

Regardless that is a nice looking truck. All the improvements hopefully make up for the few shortcomings.

Congrats on the new truck.  Interior looks sharp.

I'm a little disappointed in that CarPlay (or Android Auto) along with the cameras don't fully utilize the full 13.4 inch screen.  WIth the clock there - I know it can also display music album covers in that area as well - CarPlay doesn't seem to be a whole lot bigger than what it was on an 8 inch screen.  I could be wrong, but I've only seen the built-in Google Maps take advantage of that real estate.

My refreshed Silverado should be here soon.  So much for those who said they won't be here until late summer/fall.

You can utilize the whole screen if you want for anything. The clock comes setup that way but it can be changed so that the cameras or carplay can use the whole screen.

Beautiful. Best of luck with her. I noticed in the reviews no button on the rear handles on the refresh. I then noticed I use them all the time on my '21. When you tow or backup camera does the entire screen get used?? Are the seats softer?

My 2 reasons to try to justify the '22 are more comfortable seats and bigger screen.

My main complaint is the 8" screen. GM didnt even consider the demographic of men over 50 yrs old who wear reading glasses!!! Infuriates me to put on glasses to see that screen hooking up a trailer.

Thanks!

That would be great to see.   Because I’ve only ever seen CarPlay and the cameras displayed like below (via photos online). It’s either with a clock, album cover, or black space.   Hopefully someone can throw up a photo that shows the camera views utilizing the black area.   And CarPlay Apple Maps filling the whole screen like the built-in Google Maps, that would be nice to see.

The unlock buttons on the rear door handles.. yeah, that was what stopped me from purchasing the 2022.

Strangely, it was in the 2019 Silverado, the 2020 Silverado RST and LT no longer had it.. while GMC Sierra still had the buttons up to 2022 Limited in most trims.

My 2019 Cheyenne RST has it, the 2020 Silverado RST at the ranch didn't and that annoyed me a lot!

Did you order the Carbon Pro package? My AT4 order hasn’t even been officially accepted by GM yet and I placed in back in January. The running theory is that they aren’t accepting Carbon Pro orders on the AT4 at this time so I’m curious to see which way you went.

His window sticker is posted up there. That along with the photos of the truck indicate it does not have the carbon pro package.

Where is the guy who said he ordered his non-refreshed truck last year summer or fall and has had it continuously pushed back?

Think it was Dieselfan who said in transit doesn't mean ****** and his "so called" salesman said the refresh won't be here until summer or fall.

    • HD at the moment, are kinda their own deal.  How LTZ sells on those vs on 1500, there is a difference.   They are merging most of the mid trims on 1500.  LT, RST and LTZ are replaced by one trim, Silverado.  LT and RST are a BIG portion of sales.    Bad naming choice aside, the new Silverado trim will offer the spread of options that those three trims offered.  So expect to see things like the tech package for example, and memory seats.  And LT Trail Boss will now just be "Trail Boss" (formerly LT Trail Boss) but will offer content spread like the new Silverado trim will.  The press photos showed the Trail Boss (formerly LT Trail Boss) has access to Super Cruise now, which on the current truck was High Country only.       Here is the Trail Boss interior.  Memory seats and Super Cruise are present.  All things the LT Trail Boss it replaces, and the RST it was based on didn't get on the current gen.  You had to go to LTZ or ZR2 for memory seats, and High Country for Super Cruise.
    • I installed a Hellwig rear sway bar on my 21 Sierra SLT, it made a huge difference on how the truck handles, no body roll, the trucks much more planted now. Not sure of the suspension differences between the 21 and 26,  if its body roll your having a sway bar will solve it.
    • So a follow up and my fix. I found in online searches the live data to look at on a scan tool to verify the fuel tank pressure sensor was working.  It showed an spec number towards the lower end of the rang, but in spec.  Then while it was running opened the gas cap and the pressure should change.  It didn't change even a tiny bit.  The data for the purge valve said it was open...never changed. So then I measured the voltages on the plug for the fuel pressure sensor and they matched what it should be.  So local car quest parts had the sensor in stock...it was a bit of a pain to remove and an even bigger one to get it to actually go back in.  It helped to unbolt the driveshaft and bungie cord away from the gas tank to give a bit more room to work. So fuel tank pressure sensor in I cleared the code, and started it up.  I went to the scan tool's live data and... Eureka! The pressure number was different and fluctuated a bit.  So took it on a short drive and pressure number varied saw the purge valve go from closed to open and back to closed.  Drove it to and from work for roughly a week plugged in the scan tool no codes.  I took it in to get tested and passed.  In my state's infinite wisdom (oops meant greed), since I pushed the test with the maximum extensions I have to take it back in by Feb '27 to 'get it back up to date', then my next test won't be until Feb '29.
    • Any grease on the stud threads of any kind?   Wheel studs should have NOTHING on them for proper torquing and so the nuts don't back off.     Are all of the mating surfaces clean?  So wheel, rotor and hub?     We've had plenty of trucks at work with that wheel, this is a first to me.  Makes me think they've got a lube tech putting anti-seize on all the wheel studs or some kind of grease, and they need to stop doing that.  To have 11 other trucks with the same exact problem.
    • I was a Chevy guy for years, then switched to GMC because I liked the looks better.  I'm actually thinking I like the Chevy looks better than GMC for the first time in a lot of years.   One thing I know for certain, the new GMC dash is hideous!  Chevy wins this one!
