No sooner out of my mouth that it jumps back up 30 cents across the board. Glad I filled up early.

I've noticed that the poorest districts in our state also have the highest gas prices, highest food prices and the fewest services. Why steal from the poor?

In most cases Grumpy it's caused by the cost of doing business in these poorer areas because of CRIME.  Retailers have to cover their shoplifting losses by passing them on to the end user and I'd wager they have much higher labor costs also. If you were a youngster looking for an entry level job say at a 7-11, wouldn't you demand more money for risking life and limb in the south side of Chicago than for the same job in Peoria? Surely you've seen news articles about CVS and Walgreens just giving up and shuttering stores in high crime areas. Some downtown areas in Minneapolis and Baltimore resemble ghost towns. Thank goodness for all the delivery services available now or non-driving grannies and gramps too wouldn't be able to get their meds and even food. One could take inordinately high posted gas prices as a clue to a sketchy neighborhood, so don't be Clark Griswold taking the wrong off-ramp in St.Louis.

Funny you should mention that. I've actually done that but it was East St. Louis. Off ramp to a ghost down town full of...um....lets say interesting people best viewed like lions at the zoo and best not interacted with.

I see your point and thank you for expanding my view. That said, Kewanee is just 'price fixing'. IMO, naturally. Every price the same on every pump selection regardless of brand or location? C'mon man.

I had to Google the Griswold reference. Never saw the movie. Cute....😉

Price jumped from $2.55 to $2.90 at my location in DFW. Most places are at the $2.99 mark, but they took a less dramatic increase from yesterday

I was shocked to see 2.79 at Krogers yesterday. So I went to my farthest walking track. Quick trip was 2.63 on the highway. Exxon and Heb across the street 2.59. Seven eleven a few miles down the road was 2.53. The rural Exxon closed to me that’s usually 20 cents higher than those mentioned was 2.59. Can’t remember them that low.

If you've never watched National Lampoon's Vacation series they are entertaining. To me the best part of the first one was Chevy Chase tripping over his tongue over Christie Brinkley's character, Randy Quaid was beyond hilarious as "Cousin Eddie" especially in "Christmas Vacation" and "Vegas Vacation". " European Vacation"  was blah.

I missed my exit in downtown Orlando and ended up in a neighborhood like that and of course the truck died before I could get turned around, 70 k20 Chevy ,6in lift, 12ft camper on the back and Massachusetts plates, told the girl lock the doors while I got it going again. could feel all the eyes watching.Lots of folks were curious as to what the plow frame on the front was for. 1 place on the hi-way this am $2.74, .10 less than all the others

Got a killer deal on E85 today. If I see under two dollars I’ll be tempted to bring a couple 55 gallon drums to fill up.IMG_4793.thumb.jpeg.9eeaeebc70b9de6e9da46c65d2f70692.jpeg

$2.17 - $3.00 around here. No idea why such a spread. The cheap one is close to me. :)
