I'm leaning towards the 22" wheels on a new Sierra Denali with all season tires vs 20" with all terrain tires.

A little concerned about the weight difference on the 22's.

Any comments pro v con?

This will be my first truck that will not be a real work truck.

Thx.

I really like my 22s, they look phenomenal on this truck. I run 20s for my winter wheels though and for your consideration, the ride is noticeably smoother with the taller sidewalls of the tires when running 20s.

I think if I was going to go for the 22s I would probably spring for SuperCruise.  There may be a different calibration for the adaptive suspension based on a factory order with 22s versus 20s.  I know for a fact on the previous generation there was a different calibration and different shock part numbers with auto ride.

The size GM chose for the 22s (275/50R22) there is only highway or sport highway treads available.

The size on the 20s (275/60R20) offers much more options for future tire replacement.

Nitto and Toyo both have an aggressive AT tire in 275/50/22.

That Nitto is not an AT tire. The Toyo Open Country 3 is a new offering and looks promising.

You also have the option of running 285/50R22, 285/45R22, and 305/45R22 on the stock wheels and suspension. I run 305/45R22 Hankook Dynapro AT2 Extreme on my RST.

I wasn't clear enough on my question.

One of the reasons I want to go with the 22's is to avoid the A T tires. I will have no need for them. I know they will be louder.

As I said, this will be my first non working truck in 45 years. Just light duty stuff.

You going to order this truck?  The only tires that you can get are Bridgestone Alenza as factory.

If you plan to add the 22 wheels and tires later, in order to get a GM calibration you will need to buy oem size tires.  They WILL NOT provide it for any other non-oem size tire.
