So I'll attach my window sticker from my 22 and the new 24 custom models.  I think they did a great job actually, of course you are paying for it all but at least a lot of it is standard now.  Good stuff that I'm seeing.

I agree and it surprises me too that some dealers are still marking them up, plenty of inventory from what I'm seeing locally.  Time will tell if they are able to sell them.

The only reason I sold my 2021 is because a wholesaler gave me a stupid price for it. I could live without a truck for a while plus I get the employee family discount on the new order. Lots of things lined up in a way that has never happened in my lifetime so its almost like I had to get a new truck, so I did. Now I just have to get them to build it. (or at least accept the order rather than rejecting it due to paint color restraints)

I know two people who got crazy money for their used vehicles. My nephew had a couple year old raptor. He replaced it with a new one with not anymore debt. A few weeks later they offered more than he paid for it. He declined. The company shop Forman had a low mileage 3 year old Ram 1 ton. After his offer he ended up with a TRX. His equity in the Ram allowed him into the new ride. Put him at his original monthly payment and added two years. Four years total.

Wait, $57K and a 60K/5Year LIMITED powertrain warranty? :crackup:And they ALL do it. :nonod:

If I was working driving 50K miles a year still I would be all in. I can’t even imagine driving a TRX, I would be though. The closest I came was my Trailblazer SS. It made long distance driving fun.

Looks wise on the inside yes, same interior as before on WT and Custom.  All get updated front ends, gas gains the 10 speed Allison, so not quite "same truck basically".

What amazes me is people seem to never or rarely think of NOT having a vehicle payment.

Believe it or not at our 6th decade we’re experiencing for the first time our family vehicle having more than 100k miles. It’s not stressful for our in town vehicles. The last 3 years is the first time without a car payment. I haven’t decided if it’s worth it or not, yet. In the scheme of things if a car payment has no effect on the budget or saving for retirement, why not? Not having a car payment for the sake of not having one if foolish in certain circumstances. If you never leave town is one thing. If you travel a lot is another. If I lived in a very cold climate. 100K and five years done, new car. If it’s business dependent new vehicle. I told a bike rider one time who was riding on a winding road with no shoulder. You may be legally allowed but dead is dead. You’re the soft target. I’m taking my first trip in a well maintained 130K mileage vehicle. I’ll see how my comfort level is. It’s worth about 18K. For an additional 20K I can have the same vehicle new with 0 miles. That’s peanuts for peace of mind. That’s what I’ll be thinking about while I’m in the middle of nowhere.

I can't even get my head around not caring about having a car payment.  Or any debt for that matter. $20K is peanuts? Brother if you have that kind of money adopt me. :P

There are plenty of people trying to take my money without throwing it at them. I'm with diyer2 on this one. I have zero dollars I can light a match to and long past worrying about if my 165K mile truck would make it to California and back.

It will do it with the hood locked shut 😉

Most vehicles with very little care will go 120-150K. Then there’s the stuff that will give up without warning at the most inconvenient time. I’ve never broke down where I couldn’t reach my destination. At 67 I’m set enough that a car payment won’t ruin me. Between me and my wife we’ve position ourselves to live comfortably on our Social Security. That’s what a frugal lifestyle gives you. So thinking out loud I’m questioning whether I’m comfortable with a 7 year old 130K mile Odyssey for a trip vehicle. Sure they’re known to go 200K miles easily. Most vehicles now will. For 20K for a new one with the old one traded in. Would probably give me 7 years before it hits 100K miles. By 7 years I won’t be traveling as far. Wouldn’t be a reason to. My wife’s father is 93. My travels would be much closer. Think about this. In this market you could get better than half your original cost for your truck. You could get a replacement of the same truck for half the price. A new pepper for half. You ain’t going to do it? That’s what’s rattling in my head. Actually it’s less for a similarly equipped Odyssey.
