Atlas Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 I ordered one of these...cheap and cheerful...over $100 is still a lot for a piece of plastic, but I need a place to put gear under the rear seat. Anyone have it? Likes/dislikes? I bought it on Amazon in case I need to make use of their return policy.
N715DP Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 I agree it's a lot for molded plastic but I spent about the same on my off-brand one from Amazon (linked below). It works perfectly and is a great upgrade for interior storage. Installation was very simple and only required a small cut to the factory floor liners I had to sit perfectly (which was noted in the listing so I knew it was happening). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CDL45PX8
Joe Drives Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 Hello, that looks fine. I store quite a bit of stuff under the seat although I don't seem to use much of it. Lol. I bought a Husky Liners Gearbox - Under Seat Storage Box | Fits 2019-2024 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra 1500 Double Cab, (2022 Limited) 2020-2024 Silverado/Sierra 2500,3500 Double Cab - Black, 1 Pc. | 09061 on Amazon as well. I also bought one of these for front seat storage if you have a jump seat. I picked up the recommendation and details on this forum back in 2021. Go Gear CNSLPLUS-BLA Console Plus Organizer

GM forces a $600+ option for buckets with a console in the Trail Boss with the convenience packages. There doesn't need to be shifter on the console at the very least, it's electronic anyway and just takes up space.
GN2018 Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 Not that I expect to use my jack, but how do you access it after you install one of these?

N715DP Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 You remove the jack, install the tub, then the jack installs back in place so it's now "inside" the storage tub. 1
Atlas Posted July 29, 2025 Author Posted July 29, 2025 Same with the RC bin... looks like the bin secures on the stud for the jack and then the jack mounts inside. I'm not sure if the factory floor liner will need to be modified or not...I've found people saying it works just fine, or needs to be modified. I'll figure it out when it arrives.
Joe Drives Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 The Husky Gearbox covers the jack and has to be removed by one wingnut to access the jack. The bag of jack tools is rite under the wingnut on the left side that secures the storage box.

Atlas Posted July 30, 2025 Author Posted July 30, 2025 (edited) Well, nevermind on that. It arrived yesterday. I have the factory all-weather floor liner from GM, and it has a ~1" rigid lip on the back of it that outlines the rear floor where it meets the jack on the passenger side. Unless I want to cut up the floor liner to allow the box to sit flush and allow enough room for the seat to fold down, it's not going in. I was hoping to just have to trim a corner or make a tiny little slice, not cutting out a 3"x12" section of the floor liner just to make the tub fit. I should have read more into the description, as way down in there it says it's not compatible with the all-weather floor liner (specifically from GM). Those who say it DOES work in the reviews clearly cut out a significant chunk of the liner. To get a different rear floor liner in there with a flat lip would be expensive because nobody allows you to buy just the rear (including Rough Country), so, it's going back. The search goes on. The end result probably looks like a bag of some sort containing only what I need that stows under the seat. I was hoping for more contained/secure storage space in general, so I'll have to spend $225 on the GM under seat bin if I want to make it work. That's ridiculous, even more ridiculous than for RC's $119.95 for a piece of molded plastic. Edited July 30, 2025 by Atlas
Joe Drives Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 The Husky Gearbox sits on top of the GM floor liner without any modification. The pricing is up there close to the GM. Seems to have good reviews, The link is for a double cab so if you may have to search for your year and model or go with the GM and guaranteed correct fit. If you flip the rear liner over you can see the cut lines on it to use to modify. That said, I have the GM one in mine. I had trimmed the lip at first mainly, and it does fit. But, it puts a slight twist in the bin and the lids sit mostly fine. I likely will cut the mat down more. I'll try and post a picture if I have time. Edited July 30, 2025 by newdude
