Thoughts on using this filter?

I recently put a btr 220 cam in, dod delete, upgraded trunnions. The shop that did the work says they use this filter in all of the LT based cars, trucks they modify.

Eh.  I'd run the UPF63R as the PF-63 is the spec'd filter for the trucks.

Didn’t know they made a 63r. Thanks

The PF64 / UPF64 is the filter spec for a 6.2L LT1 in the 6th generation Camaro, so you're not wrong about it being applicable to LT-based engines. The PF64 is shorter than the PF63, so it's better protected and does not extend beyond the oil pan, given the low clearance of the Camaro's undercarriage.

I'd use the 63 in a truck application, larger filter media, because there's ample room for it.

I use AC2057F oil filters on the better halves 2025 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness 2.5L H4 naturally activated. Oil analysis and observation shows these filters work great.

UPF63R will work well like others stated. Not sire the cost on it but another option for a quality filter is the AMSOIL EaO17.

AMSOIL Oil filters

I bought a handful of AMSOIL filters to try from @Black02Silverado for the Mitsubishi. Yes they were a bit over a dollar a piece more than the Purolator Pure One I've been running and on paper have equal 99% at 20 micron ratings. BUT, the difference even in external construction is HUGE. In fact, not another filter on my preferred list is built like that.

I didn't put pencil to paper but the inlet area is vastly larger and the endcap is tank like in construction. Grippy coating, unlike the FRAM XG still allows the proper cup filter wrench to be used. Center tube is crush proof. I got my dollars worth.

My cost is in consideration of my AMSOIL membership discount. I buy enough to make that membership cost disappear.

I'm not selling for Nick nor endorsing AMSOIL. I'm stating facts based on my experience.

I prefer FRAM's new Synthetic Endurance.  I would never use their base filters, but their new Synthetic Endurance, and their Ultra Synthetic are very good filters from what I can gather.  The Synthetic Endurance is rated for 25,000 miles, but I swap them out every oil change which usually around 7,000 to 7,500 miles according to the OCI light on the dash.  The oil generally has a slightly darker amber tint to it when it gets changed, which is significantly cleaner/clearer in appearance than any oil change I ever did with the OEM filter (dark as coffee).

Grumpy,

The FRAM Synthetic Endurance is a relatively new filter, but I would love to hear your thoughts on it, if you have any.

I haven't even seen one in person sir. Sorry. I can say that a few places that supply their own filters will recommend the Endurance when they cannot, for whatever reason, supply one of their own. Seems like an endorsement of sorts. Grain of salt required perhaps.

Here's the business end of the ones Nick sent me.

Fram Endurance is awesome. Made by Champion Labs. More than a passing resemblance to the Amsoil. Media looked no different to me when I cut them both open. Can get it at Walmart so it’s pretty convenient too.

Amsoil FF media is Donaldson made. I suspect the whole filter is.

I’m not guessing or “suspecting” when I say what I say. In my application the Amsoil and Fram Endurance are basically the same filter and definitely Champion. Base plate, media, even the little blue clip on the spring. IMG_1452.thumb.jpeg.6fcf5011a746745c2a9a84b61c2eb208.jpeg

Royal Purple too but the base plate is a little different and the ADBV is purple. 🤷🏻‍♂️
