Truck is ready to be picked up. I will look to see the numbers on my axle and take a picture. Shocked they called me late today and not late tomorrow. Gm also called me yesterday wanting to talk about extending my warranty. I’m still trying to figure out if I want to take compensation or fight for a new truck. I don’t think an extended warranty alone will make me happy enough to keep her. I’ll keep you posted Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

I was getting readings of 10.5L/100km (22.4usmpg) on stock tires. When I put on my 33x12.5 10 plys I get on average 13L/100 (18mpg) at 65mph if I up it to 70-75mph I am looking at 15.5L/100 (15mpg). 33x12.5R20, CAI, 6.2L 8L90e 3.23. It seems to shine when im on the slower secondary roads at around 40mph, I can get it to 19-20mpg2 points

Having had both, 6.2 is much more powerful than the 5.3 in both the previous and new. Only thing to really consider is that the 5.3 takes regular fuel, the 6.2 prefers super/highest octane the better. Don’t buy the 6.2 if you’re going to complain about a $5-$10 difference fuel cost when filling up the 6.2. Though the 5.3 is good enough, between the two, I’ll never own anything but a 6.2. The 5.3 is more than adequate for any driving you need to do on public roads. The 6.2 is purely for fun/showing off/bragging rights. If you want to pay for the bigger engine, just do it. You don't need permission from strangers online to spend your money. But you definitely don't need a 6.2. There's a lot of things I don't need that I pay for too, but I don't regret having a 5.3 for 1 second.2 points

Replaced my license plate lights with some LEDs I got off Ebay. They are bright. It replaced the whole housing, took all of 10 minutes to install. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk2 points

Damn, that’s so nice looking! Great job on the leather and amp power steps. Edit: I was thinking about getting the RST and some katskinz but my wife talked me into getting the LTZ. You are making me regret my choice lol.1 point

I don’t, but I’ll be doing Phil’s speaker grille with the Camaro trim piece just like mine and I’ll take picture this time. Wife gave me a day to do this project so between doing modifications and installation there was not much time for pictures or videos..[emoji2359] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Go read the Ram forums and you will see they have plenty of problems, maybe more than GM. Even the F-150 that came out in 2015 still has plenty of complaint threads over on their forum.1 point

So way to early to tell if it’s fixed. I drove it about 100 miles today with no noise. Here is the picture of the code of the new differential if anyone is able to read it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I presume you didn't get this done with WAMS (whiteautoandmedia.com)? Unfortunately that is not going to function in a 2014 (assuming your truck is a 2014 based on your profile info) for a myriad of reasons. Without knowing what hardware you used, its hard to say what the rationale was but thats part of why WAMS has validated hardware/software build combinations to make sure you get all of the features your truck can use and none that you cant among other things.1 point

If you're concerned enough about power levels to ask the question, and you have the funds to pay the increased cost of the 6.2L, that's the way you'll want to go. Otherwise, you'll be like me, always thinking "I should have ordered a 6.2L instead of buying a 5.3L off the lot." The 5.3L isn't bad, but it's no Hemi and it's certainly no 6.2L. The above comment about durability makes no sense to me. The 6.2L and 5.3L share the same architecture, materials, and assembly methods, and cylinder deactivation systems. If anything, the 6.2L would be more durable because it would spend less time at full throttle when being pushed hard. There's no substitute for bigger bore/longer stroke. That's what she says, anyway.1 point

Then I suggest checking out the ramforumz .com problems forum. You’ll be back in a hurry. Honestly, if reliability is your biggest criteria just go with the Tundra. That platform has been around since 07 and is pretty much bulletproof. Gas is horrendous but you’ll only see the dealer for maintenance. I have had absolutely zero problems with my 07 crew cab. My 2002 Tahoe has also been a fantasticaly reliable vehicle.l have put over 240k miles on original Powertrain. Just replaced the AC compressor and a tie rod on it. I would drive it or my tundra across country tomorrow.1 point

I said this once before and I'll say it again. The guys that are coming from the 07-13 trucks are going to be in awe of the interiors on the new 19s because the older trucks are all plastic from door to door. Now the guys that are coming from 14-18 trucks are either going to like it or not. Because there is not too much change between the materials and layout of the trucks they are used to.1 point

I considered ford but they have doors not shutting, out of alignment, 10 spd issues, oil consumption, vibrations issues (at highway speeds), bunch of misc electronic issues, etc, though granted, they are able to stop.1 point

Did you buy a 19 or 20 or are you just here stirring the pot......if you did buy one, why are you whining about it now - unless you were legally blind when you made your purchase.1 point

I came out of a 2005, so everything about my 19 is different, and as far as problems, I haven't had any after 11,400 miles. Hope the newer ones have what your looking for1 point

I just installed the GM Cold Air Kit on my 2019 Silverado 6.2L. I had the chance to buy and compare both the K&N 63-3109 and the GM Part # 84789804. The price difference was about $85 more for the GM kit. On examining the over all kit construction and design of both, the GM kit is by far superior in fit, form and function. Better built and in my opinion and more durable. all the factory brackets and holes to attach wire looms are in the same place as the OE box I removed. The clear plastic top gives you the opportunity to see the filter for examination, plus it looks better than the K&N filter boxes solid black top. Also the hose on the GM kit that goes from the air box to the throttle body is heavier duty and the design will allow less leaks or loosening over time. It is the old story of, you get what you pay for! Is it more expensive than the K&N or other brand Cold Air kits, Yes. But when spending the amount of money on my truck that I did buying it new, why not buy the BEST. I have been in the Automotive Enthusiast for over 40 years, ASE Certified, worked for an Automotive Supplier for my whole career and I have seen a lot of accessories, installed many and did a lot of mods over the years and know when items are just right. This is the kit you want. Now for how it works, I also have the factory performance exhaust as well, the cold air kit did not add a lot of sound volume. You can hear it a tad more but not a bad sound note at all. Sounds better in my opinion. The throttle response is better and feels like it adds to the performance. From examining both kits, one will not give you any better power than the other. Don't get me wrong, the K&N kit is a nice piece of hardware and will work well, they make great products. I just prefer the fit, form and function of the GM kit. Plus, it is also covered under the warranty program along with my truck, and you will never have to fight with the dealer if there is an engine management issue down the road as this is an OE kit. That makes a difference in itself. The GM kit has a dry filter media, which I prefer. Now, the above is just my impressions of the kits and my opinion. You will have your own and know what works best for you. Good luck to all of you out there with modding your trucks and whatever choices you make on products will make it your own unique rig ! Below pics are of my install.1 point

I have the exact same issue with a 2018 Sierra I just bought! The Converter!. Truck shook from day 1. dumb me listened to the sales jerk at Starling Buick in Venice Fl, saying it just needs breaking in. Took me a month to get a service appointment but its in the shop now with 3000 miles on it and they are replacing the converter tomorrow they say and pick it up tomorrow. Sounds like we all got a LEMON when we bought the GMC !! I may be stuck with this for the moment but will get rid of it ASAP ! DONT GO WITH A GMC OR STARLING BUICK OF VENIC since they knew this was a shit truck from the get go!!.1 point

Just got a 2018 Silverado the other day. First GM product in about 17 years. So far, I have learned one new thing about my truck, it has a taco folder in it. When one of the key fobs doesn't want to play nice with the seat/mirror/pedal memory set up, and you try to save the settings, it will move the seat all the way down, the seat back will tilt all the way forward and there you are, practically sitting on the floor of your truck, folded over like a f'in taco.1 point

Sadly, what i have found is if you have a 14 ltz it DOES NOT have the roll down feature. Which blows. VW has been doing this stuff for years and has a roll up feature. kinda lame the rest of the world hasnt caught on. ALso, personal gripe(kinda like not squeezing from the bottom of the tube) why is the driver window the only full auto? why not all? is it really that hard to do? I think it would be REALLY nice if you could one touch up the other 3 windows instead of having to hold them.1 point

Finished install on the 4x4. Didn't make it to the alignment shop in time, but its low. I think I'll take the back down 1" more.1 point
