  1. You may be surprised. Your profession may qualify you for special pricing. My wife is a Naval Pediatric Nurse. Nurses get healthcare employee pricing, and military personnel get first responder pricing. They happen to be the same discount, so it doesn't matter. Just can't double-dip on the discount. 2. I use the lightbar, so it, and the sport bar it's mounted on, stay. A bed cap is no go. I have a Trail Boss, and unlike most Trail Boss Silverados, mine sees trails and dirt. My neighbor is constantly telling me I should head out to Superstition Mountain with him. He has a Custom Trail Boss. I agree. I don't see a Suburban being capable of doing what the Trail Boss, even if it's a Yukon XL AT4. However, a Trail Boss can't fit the whole family and gear for the trips. Either the wife gets left behind, or the dog. The dog would win every time. Maybe she should replace her Traverse with a Suburban??? She won't. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  3. Others can, but I cannot. I have the sport bar. Besides, a cap wouldn't solve the issue that would call for a Suburban. My wife won't drive my truck, and insists on taking her car on trips. Problem is, her car won't fit everything and everybody for long trips. She also struggles to drive 400 miles in one day. We end up taking 2 cars because of my wife. Had I just got a Suburban there wouldn't be a need for 2 cars on one trip. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  4. It'll depend on the bike. Little bikes, you'll be able to close the gate. Large bikes, one you'll be okay at an angle. More than 1 you'll need the gate down. The short bed is actually wider than it is longer. I've managed to put a quad into the bed of my short bed and was still able to close the tailgate. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

  6. I'm in San Diego. I have done this already on my truck. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  7. It's the same as a 2500. Just make sure you get the correct kit/knee bolster. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

  9. I haven't been to the dealership yet with this issue. I'm waiting until the next oil change. In the meantime, I was at the beach today. When leaving I was loading up the truck and found the bushing on the right side of the tailgate was broken. Apparently GM still hasn't figured out how to make a good bushing for this spot. It's GM part number 84331136 for those who are curious. Looking into the problem, it's the same part that's on the 2014+ trucks. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  10. The interior side of the firewall hole on the driver's side has foam insulation covering it. You need to reach up high behind the brake peddle on the right side of the foam to find the wire once you've inserted it through the firewall. This allows you to run the wires up in the dash high enough to not interfere with operation of the peddles. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  11. OP, 2020 Trail Boss here. Built in June 2020. I have 14,****** miles. No engine issues at all. Best mpg I've seen is a follow: 25 miles = 33.1 mpg 50 miles = 23.9 mpg 400 miles = 20.1 mpg I believe these numbers are a result of the drive down from the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Iirc, it's a long downhill road if you head towards Utah, and the speed limit is 50 or 55 mph. With the 10-speed these trucks will perform better than the EPA rates them at if you stay in the 55 mph range. I've driven my truck from coast to coast, literally. I don't regret this purchase and would do it again. Truth! I was just in Utah last week. Drove from San Diego to Salt Lake City. Drove back the following weekend. I always set the cruise at 8 over the posted limit (number of times I've been pulled over at this speed = 0). I was not seeing 20mpg, up nor down. I did see 21-22 mpg at one point, but that was driving downhill from Heber via Provo Canyon. When I got to my hotel in West Valley (yeah, I took the long way) it was back down to 18 mpg average for the last 50 miles. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  12. You lose a lot of tech when going with tow mirrors, which is stupid. GM half-assed the tow mirrors. No reason to lose cameras, LCA, 360 view of they had done things right. Stupidly, it also eliminated from park sensors, front camera, and rearview mirror camera. I'm not an expert on this, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Changing the mirrors and wire harness may also require a recalibration from GM to make things work properly. Having to get a recalibration every time I swap mirrors can be exhausting and expensive. 13. If be wary of that package from infotainment. Your stock module has its own one of kind IP address. Dealing it out can cause issues with OnStar, XM, etc. Some people get it to work. Others don't. MVi (www.gm-navigation.com) will send you a loaner module while they program your original module, then send you your original module back and you send them their loaner back. Doing it this way I've had zero issues and I've been running my reprogrammed module for several months without a single issue. As others have said before me, this upgrade is not available for IOR radios. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  14. My 2020 Trail Boss LT came from the factory with tow mirrors. The lower mirrors are manually adjusted with your hand. The upper mirrors are power adjusted with the buttons on the door. For button remains the same. Things like power fold and power extend are what will change the door button controls. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  15. Do you have window vent visors like WeatherTech sells? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  16. Should've kept the truck to tow that overpriced Volkswagen to the dealer when it breaks, imo. VW/Audi/Porsche overly engineer everything unnecessarily and it causes the cost of repair to go up while parts availability is scarce. Best of luck to you. I hope you don't need it, but lifetime experience tells me you will. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  17. A 2-mile commute shouldn't need a chunk of metal with a bunch of moving parts anyways. That's a short walk. If you can't handle that then you've got bigger problems coming. Now, towing a boat (or any other load) is another story. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  18. When I'm seeing the following all over the product description, details, and FAQ, something tells me I need to pay attention it. Can somebody provide the installation instructions to GM part # 84182981 to confirm I won't need a dealer for this? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  19. You are correct. I was just trying to keep it simple. All the gasoline engines I've seen that take full advantage of E85 were modified and tuned beyond what simple bolt ons would achieve. Those engines were dedicated to run E85 only. In order to run gasoline a new tube needed to be uploaded into the car's ECU. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  20. Picked this up today. Ordered and paid for it back in February. Some sort of ordering mistake made by the dealership prevented it from coming in March. They owned up to it and corrected the issue. Got a call back on Friday that it finally arrived, but I was out of town. Just picked it up. This is for Northsky Blue. While I picked up the touch up paint I also looked into getting the number pad for entry into the truck done. GM Accessories charges $80 for the customer to have the dealer install it if ordered through the website. Dealership I have been buying parts through isn't setup on the GM Accessories website. In this case it's have to order it online and have it shipped to another dealer for install. The dealership I've been using wanted to charge me $273 just for install. Upon hearing this I told the guy, "This is why you guys never get my truck for service. You are trying to rip people off. GM's Accessories website says it's 1/3 what you're charging." I turned and walked out. The dealership that is setup to receive parts via GM Accessories website will be getting service, along with my next oil change and routine maintenance at the 15,000 mile internal. 21. Not every Silverado has the rear spoiler. Out of the 600, how many had rear spoilers? Not every Silverado has a sliding rear window. It of 600, how many has sliding rear windows? GM sold 575,600 Silverados in 2019. Using your dealer's math, 9/600=1.5%. However, the percentage would be higher via reducing the denominator because we remove the solid rear windows and/or trucks without spoilers. To keep things equal, I'll use the 1.5% we obtained above. 1.5% × 575,600 = 8,634 trucks. For 2020 the numbers are slightly bigger. 1.5% × 594,094 = 8,912 (round up because you can't have part of truck sold). For 2021 we have sales numbers through March. 1.5% × 126,591 = 1,899 trucks. Multiply by 4 and we'll see approximately 7,596 (sales numbers appear to be down for the 1st quarter). At present, there are 19,445 trucks that have had the leaky rear window, and estimated to be approximately 25,142. This is representative of your dealer's 9/600. Looking at the numbers, this is not a minor or nonexistent issue. At the end of the day, all your dealer friend cares about is getting paid. He doesn't care if the money comes from GM or a customer. Having work to do is job security. With that said, I haven't experienced the leaky rear window yet, and I hope I don't. 14,000 miles on my 2020 Trail Boss that I've owned 8 months. I love the truck, and hope it stays that way. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  22. Whatever you do, get the 10-speed. /s If you like the 2.7T you can get whatever truck has it and add the AT4 lift and suspension in the deal. The dealership can install it, too. The kit is a GM Accessory. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  23. It's not a major redesign. That's not how GM operates. It's a mild refresh, most likely just the front bumper and grille. Everybody hoping for a magic rear window fix will likely be disappointed. We should all be sure to be inviting and welcoming when the 22+ trucks start posting about their leaky rear window. 24. I use to live in the Western Branch area of Chesapeake. I know that people won't drive from Virginia Beach to Suffolk or Newport News just to get fuel. "It's too far" was applied to anything 20 minutes away, especially if a bridge or tunnel was involved. Somebody in Norfolk might even say Pungo or Portsmouth is too far away to get fuel. With all that said, I did the Google search for you and came up with the following: https://vacleancities.org/station-locator/biodiesel-station-locator/#/analyze?region=US-VA&show_map=true&fuel=BD If you refine your search to just biodeisel, Virginia, and public access you'll find there only 1 station in the entire state where you can fill your tank. Unfortunately, it's in Richmond. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  25. I'm no expert, but I disagree with the comments about a recalibration being needed. Iirc, the sensors emit radar to detect distance. A simple relocation of the sensor is all you need. If I was closer I'd take a look at the wiring and see if I could do this job for you, including making a harness extension. With ordering parts and making a harness, it would probably take me a week. I don't have front parking sensors on my truck because I have tow mirrors, therefore I'm useless without something to touch. To fill the holes you could get some of these and paint them body color.
