Where is the flasher relay for 2006 Silverado 1500 HD?

Ok guys, I'm about to pull my hair out trying to find this stupid "combination flasher" that I see posted everywhere talking about people who put LED's in their truck. Either GM couldn't of put this in a more difficult place to get to it, or every post I'm reading is dead wrong and doesn't apply to my vehicle. I just recently put LED's in every outside bulb and I'm getting the hyper/fast flash problem obviously due to the vehicle thinking I have a bad bulb. Well I know I need to replace it with another one or just desolder a certain pin that handles the "Lamp Failure Detection", which is what I want to do...................but I can't find where the heck it is.

I pulled one relay out that is the closest thing I can find to the descriptions online but I don't think this is it, the caption is "GM 10383321 2/4-W/OPT. Trailering" Looks close to the pictures online but it's much wider and has 10 pins on the bottom instead of 4. The part online I found as a replacement for my vehicle was EP-29. But I have no idea where "EP-29" actually goes.

Any help?

It is behind the knee bolster under the steering wheel. It is on the left side, square in shape. black in color. release the tab and pull.

Hey thanks for the reply, but I'm not sure I know what you're referring to. Do I need to take the steering wheel off? I'm going to take some pictures here in a little bit and maybe you can point it out to me. I have pulled off every square box I could see and all of them didn't have pins in the same format of the pictures I've seen online of "EP-29" part. Many thanks for your help!

the panel on the dash thats under the steering wheel. if you pushed your seat all the way forward your knees will touch it. the panel that is below the wheel and rolls down to under the dash

Figured out where it was. OMG, so the problem was that the electronic flasher in my 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500HD does NOT look like the ones on all the other websites. Mine is about twice the size in length. And it has 10 pins on it. The part is NOT the EP-29, actually I'm not sure what the part number is but I found it online and the SKU was AC10383321. But now the question is where do I find the LED equivilent of that flasher unit?

Ok, got it! So turns out you don't actually have to buy a new LED flasher at all. When you pull out the electronic flasher, all you have to do is desolder or clip pin #7 on the main U6043B chip. It's the only chip that has 8 pins on the whole thing. I just desoldered it and then just broke the whole pin leg off by folding it up. I'm attaching a picture so you can see what it looks like and what pins are what.

Also, the technical specs on that U6043B chip are located here: http://www.datasheetcatalog.org/datasheet/Temic/mXyzurtu.pdf

Enjoy. :driving:

Okay I tried your mod by cutting pin 7 as shown in the pic. But I don't know which pin leg is number 7, they all have letters A thru K for all 10 pin legs. Now I don't know if bending the pin leg down makes a difference but with just pin 7 cut my right side turn signal blinks as if its out and my left turn signal doesn't come on at all. Any advise would be very helpful.
