My EBC's stopped good but were trash. Dustier than race brakes that throw sparks.[emoji38]

LOL yeah that's my only complaint with these. I've got those chrome-clad '10 LTZ 20's for summer wheels. In 300 miles they're black.

I have Wagner Thermoquiet pads on the front of my truck right now, and they suck! No stopping power what so ever especially pulling my trailer. I have Centric pads in the garage that I'll be putting on in a few weeks.

Hmm that's odd I've always had good luck with the Wagner thermoquiets. On my 02 I had the green stuff ebc pads matched with the dimpled and slotted rotors on all 4 corners. Granted I did a huge brake overhaul that weekend on it (hydroboost unit, braided stainless hoses, larger calipers up front, dual piston rears). The green stuff pads did okay but were dusty and dirty as hell. When it came time for pads on it I went with the thermo quiets and the dust was practically eliminated and I personally believe they stopped better.

On this truck I'm going to be doing some upgraded front brakes when the time comes, the rear I already replaced bc I thought that they were the cause of some type of "push/ pull" shake in the truck while braking. Well, they weren't lol

Looks like I'll have to try that out when the time comes. I have EBC Yellows on the front, with the OEM shoes out back. Been very happy with it.

The brake job before this one, I used Wagner ThermoQuiets front and rear. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! From the very first application of the brakes, I was regretting my purchase. I have the same brakes in our '86 Grand Marquis, and that thing will put you through the windshield with little pedal effort. Total opposite result on the truck. Could have been non-metallic pads I got - that would explain alot. Towing was frightening. Had to stand on the brakes, even with the trailer doing most of the stopping. I put up with that for a year or more before I finally threw the pads and shoes in the trash, with many years of life still left in them. I just couldn't take it anymore. The EBC solid rotors, pads, and rear shoes brought back the feel it had off the showroom floor ... minus the pulsation. The break-in procedure was similar, but I have always used that same procedure with all brakes.

I'm curious to hear how good this setup will be.

Ok, my exact set-up is Power Stop drilled & slotted front rotors with Z36 truck & tow pads. I purchased the complete front kit for around $285ish. The rear are the Power Stop brake shoes.

I just returned home from towing my wifes horse trailor loaded with both horses (had vet appt.)

The brakes performed beyond my expectations to be honest. The trailor brake felt unneeded so I turned the gain down to zero on the way home and just relied on the truck brakes.

I can honestly say that these brakes stop much stronger and shorter than the 4-wheel disc set-up I have on my 2008 V-Max (Hawk pads w/ EBC drilled & slotted rotors). I only towed a total distance of 50 miles today but this upgrade was a great idea. Well worth the money and this will be my brake of choice for future purchases, as long as everything lasts.

It's almost dangerous driving unlaoded when it's time to stop, they grab quick and really slow you down. It's like I have to relearn how to drive my truck. I've had several different brand of brakes in the past but this PS package is impressive and have to be the best so far, highly recommended.....Just ordered a complete Z23 package for my Cruze. They are not as heavy duty as the trucks but I hope they work as well.

Wow nice - they sound like they're exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for the update!

Yeah me too - that's why I had bought them for the Silverado. They work unbelievably good on our '86 Grand Marquis. Expected the same results on the truck. For whatever reason, they're just not compatible with the Silverado. I think the trucks need sintered, or metallic pads - not organic. I don't remember what the ThermoQuiets were composition-wise ...

Metallic pads will be horrible. Loud, dusty and so on. Honestly with brake pads I always recommend OEM. They may not offer the very best performance but they won't coat your wheels in gunk and they're quiet.

Except on my Jeep, but I kinda have reduced expectations for a Chrysler product.

My truck has been parked (covered..) at the hospital as of Wednesday afternoon since our second son was just born. Hopefully both will go home on Saturday!

The OEM pads on the Silverado looked metallic. They wore into the rotors pretty quick like metallics too. Was hardly any brake dust with those, so who knows. I won't be handing any money to GM anytime soon, so that's a moot point for me.

Nice. The machine marks from the 5 separate times the dealer turned the rotors under warranty on mine were gone by the time I got home - less than 12 miles. I would start to feel a ridge at the top and bottom of the contact patch after just 3k miles. They really bit into the rotor good. Stopped exactly like the EBC's, but with less brake dust.

I still won't buy OEM though. I harbor grudges for life ...

No one uses metallic pads as OEM equipment and hasn't for ages. Just because you see shiny stuff in the pad doesn't mean it's metallic.

Not just that - they ate into the rotors FAST. Could just be GM uses bamboo rotors straight from red china ...

GM has used ceramic pads since 1999
