No idea. Ask General Motors. Why does the paint on the drivers box side just get destroyed to the point I am having it repainted in about a week from now on a truck that only sees pavement... there are many unanswered questions here. However unlike most that stand and complain I will do something about it.. it is what it is. A propane torch let me reform that intake tube and I gave it a wrap of black tape just to build a cushion where the intake tube attaches. I tested for leaks with propane after and all seems well again.

I better see you at woodward we cruised it last night.

This whole weekend I spent time in the square new radio speakers and swapped grills with a friend. Then we out them all in a car show this morning and cruised some more. Pics are all in the photography section.

Huh.... mine was full of dirt from my airbox lid being damaged. Otherwise I would have never removed the intake manifold unless I had a purpose like a blower. ... fuel system upgrade etc. I didn't pull it to clean valves lol. My truck only has 24000 miles on it... the valves look great!

You guys read too much stupidity on this website and somehow think it's real world lol.

Lol. What the MT reviewer did with his truck:

http://www.motortrend.com/cars/chevrolet/colorado/2016/2016-chevrolet-colorado-z71-diesel-review-arrival/

"You can probably imagine my surprise when the first time I fired it up, a GMC logo greeted me on the little driver instrument control display on the dashboard. Hmm. Upon closer inspection, the switches on the center stack that turn traction control on and off, among other things, were loose and only worked if you pushed them just so. My truck mustve rolled down its Wentzville, Missouri, assembly line on an off day. Regardless, those are issues to be addressed at a later date because Ive got big plans for the Colorado."

That's par for the course.

People keep buying them, so I don't know whether to rip on GM for building crap, or the people who don't mind forking over $50-large for a half-assed vehicle ...

I learn from my mistakes!

Not worry about it because it isn't your money nor is it your problem. And I'm not complaining about it... so.. lol. They are all junk regardless of brand or model.

And just for a breath of fresh air for on here... I like my trucks.. I do. If I don't I just sell them and buy something else. I just need to get the 15 where I want it body wise.. toss the drop in it and then make a decision on turbo or a blower. Decisions decisions lol.

The only turbo option I see viable is armageddon. I don't want some dumb big single on a real driver... because in all reality they drive like garbage. Blower... well... I don't want a tvs1900 if I am spending the money and Whipple is just meh to me... I have been watching a guy on pt that is running a procharger on his 5.3 and he is basically maxed out now fuel wise... makes around 700 whp though. He has a cam with a bigger pump lobe and the LT4 Vette injectors and high pressure pump.. that's the real limit on these direct injected ones anyway. The armageddon looks so badass... but it's also a lot more money than just doing a blower lol.

Got home last night from a 1,200 mile road trip over the span of one week. The only problem was the fuel pressure regulator that wouldn't seal a few hours into the drive, needing to drive about 20 miles back and buy a new one that squared everything away. Luckily it didn't happen further away since we would have been in the middle of nowhere, but I should have known better and it was entirely my fault and not the trucks.

Otherwise the truck was flawless and handled everything like a champ; highway, dirt trails, mud, rain, etc. She even got to drink some 92 octane!

Sounds like a fun trip!

Got my black window trim sitting on my living room floor. Wasn't sure about it there for awhile, but after looking at pictures, I think I'll be happy.

Last 2 days has been crazy driving

The latest this morning rolling to work at 5am on the 465 on ramp driving along (not tailgating for once) guy in a spark in front of me turns around and flips me off. WTF ok dude. I end up passing him cruising in the middle lane he flys up behind me and hits his brights (more like flashlights) so I think maybe he thought my brights were on so I slow down get over he passes I get behind then as a friendly gesture to illustrate I didn't have my brights on light him up (lights, brights, and fogs). He got the idea, flipped me off and took off. Good day sir sorry about whoever pissed in your Cheerios
