Haha! I kind of like getting a sticker in the mail. Actually feels like I'm paying $83 for something. Lol!

Went in to town to get gas in the truck, and run a few errands. I filled the truck up because I was planning on doing some offroading to spot light Saturday night.

Well on the way into town from getting gas I hear a weird noise. Once I got into town I could hear it even more. I knew what it was, but when I got home I checked it out. Bad wheel bearing.

When I had it aligned the mechanic said it had a little play, but nothing serious. It's pretty bad now. Sure did go out quick. Hopefully when I replace it my ABS is fixed too.

Out here in Arizona you still see tons of gmt800's running around. Some in better shape than others as long as they have been cared for, negligence is usually the biggest factor.

Still a TON of em out here in Colorado as well.

I drove down to Valencia, CA. Sitting in a Dr's waiting room. Might be home by dinner time

Is that what you did to your truck?

I did with it. It got 20.95 MPG too.

That's damn impressive on California fuel. You'd probably get 24 in the Midwest or South.

Always wanted to ride dunes ever since I opened my first Dirtwheels magazine over 30 years ago. Still haven't done it! Closest I've got is local sand pits many years ago. Had some crazy steep hills, some with inverted cliffs at the top - used to love climbing those. Not sure if I could still do it now. Had no fear in those days - we used to have a functioning healthcare system, lol.

I forget where exactly you are in Mass but did you ever mess around on the trail network in Winchendon? There was a massive sand pit there too. Think it's all been developed now though.

I don't have health insurance right now lol its always in the back of my mind something could happen but I always keep that confidence out there. Getting scared can mess you up.

But Obama was gonna get health insurance for all of us!

Stay safe!

I've got a buddy that lives there - not sure if he's near where you're talking, but they have an abandoned railroad track trail right in their backyard. They're nearly right on top of the MA/NH border.

Last time I was up there I saw they've barricaded the old RR tracks, and the enviro-cops have been doing stings busting people, and impounding equipment. Even NH cops were having a field day further up. That was surprising.

Seems the ATV in MA is going to be like the AR-15 to progressives ...

Last time I was there was 2004. It's been a while.

Back then it was pretty popular. There was a bunch of us there hosted by a friend who was a local (he's since moved to Vegas and last I knew was running a shooting range out there). Ran into a lot of locals that day. Too bad it's gone now. Nice trails.

When I was in my 20's we used to go to Templeton every weekend. That place was awesome. There were a couple large sand pits, and miles and miles of trails - pretty much every style of riding right in one location. Loved that place. We pretty much lived there every weekend in the early to mid 90's. We'd park, then ride trails, cross Rt.2, and play around in that pit next to the highway. Some crazy steep hills there. Used to love that. I think I have a picture of me riding the hill in the area where we used to park - can't seem to find it though ...

Last time I was there was in '04 too, in winter. I had just bought a brand new Kawasaki V-Force 700, and the wife and I took a cruise around on some snowmobile trails. Wow - learned real quick that people don't like that, LOL. Some waved, others flipped me off, some swore at the top of their lungs at me through their helmets. Didn't figure it out until I got home and told someone who was into snowmobiles where I was riding ...

That place is totally off limits to motorized recreation now too. This place is getting worse and worse by the year ...

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
