Up for sale are a front and rear heavy duty axle assembly with 3.73 ratio out of a 2002 GMC 2500HD pick-up with a 8.1 liter engine. These axle assemblies are in perfect shape with only 58,000 miles on them and would be excellent for someone wanting to do a gear ratio change. I decided I wanted 4.10 ratio in my truck because we are looking for a way bigger 5th wheel trailer then what we currently have and decided it was easier to swap out axle assemblies then it was to overhaul and regear my existing ones. The front differential is complete from axle flange-to-axle flange and is a 9.5" ring gear size that should fit all 3/4 ton (2500 series) trucks and Suburbans from 1999 to 2007 GMT-800 series.......correct me if I'm wrong. The rear axle assembly is a "full floating" 11.5" ring gear size with a G80 Locker option, that is complete from rotor-to-rotor that originally came in only 3/4 ton trucks with either a 8.1 L engine or a Duramax diesel engine. All other 3/4 ton trucks and Suburbans came with "full floating" 10.5" ring gear axle assemblies. I believe this heavy duty rear axle will fit in any of the 3/4 ton trucks or Suburbans, the only thing that might be different is the u-joint size on the driveline. I am the original owner of the truck and I serviced (changed fluid) on the rear axle at 3,000 miles after the inital break-in because the dealer told me to and then I serviced both of them at the 30,000 mile service. They have always had the special General Motors Synthetic 75w/90w gear oil in them. None of the seals have ever had any leaks. I have towed very little over the years that I have owned the truck......only a 2 place snowmobile trailer in the winter and a 27 foot 5th wheel trailer 5-6 times a summer and never farther then a 100 miles from home, so they have not been abused. I am asking $650.00 for the front axle and $1100.00 for the rear axle or I would go $1650.00 for both of them together. If you have any questions, call 406-227-8698 and leave a message. They are located in Montana City, Montana and I will crate and ship them.
