Not sure if this is the correct place to post or not but I’ve read through a lot of this thread and haven’t seen anything related to my question. For you guys running 35 in tires what engine and gears do you have? I have 33’s but really want 35’s I just don’t wanna put too much stress on the tranny. I have a 2017 Silverado LT Z71 5.3 with 3.42 gears. Will 35’s be too much?

I have a 2015 Silverado, same engine and gears.
The difference in town wasn’t noticeable with the 35” tires and 6” lift. On the the interstate tranny downshifts more for slight grades. The big difference was losing 5mpg . But I knew this going in so not a surprise. The folks with 3:08 gears say they notice a loss of get up a go. I believe you’ll be fine as most of us are. In the future I got plans to re gear to a 4:10 . From what I read and my local shops recommendations that should put less stain on the Powertrain and give back some of the performance. Hope this helps

Yes it does! Do you have a tune? I know it’s not a permanent solution to the bigger tires and the tranny but I have a custom tune so I was wondering if once I do up the tires and get a new custom tune it would help as well till I got a re gear.

Yes I have the edge tuner . It adjusts the speedo for bigger tires, de activated the AFM. I used the edge values for the trans shift points It cleaned up some of the sluggish shifts and downshifts smoother. I have the throttle management as well set at 20%. Also a cold air intake , I’d say is a waste of money but it all works together. A good tuner is a great buy. I recommend the hand held , some complain about dead battery with the ones plugged into the obd port.

I’ve read good reviews about lew. What lift and tire/ wheel setup are you going to do?

I have 33x12.5 on 20x10s with a -24 offset on a level right now. I wanna do either a 4 or 4.5 lift with 35s. Lift will depend on how much money I wanna spend. It will either be the 4 in BDS or 4.5 zone.

That bds system will put a smile on your face. Amazing how a 35” tire fits those 4” lifts.

The ability to keep factory wheels is a big bonus. Very nice truck.

The truck came with ugly 17s.  I bought aftermarket copy 22s.  I love not having crap thrown all over the side of my truck.

saw on facebook Rough Country has released its leveling kit and 2.5" lift for the 2014. they look exactly the same as for the previous generation. But, they have a video that shows a new silverado with a 2.5" on it. although its a little low for me, it looks amazing

i have 275/70r18 K02s on mine.

rides like a slug considering I have the 3.08 gears. You didn’t have to change out your rear shocks for the 6.5 lift? I didn’t think the Bilsteins would be long enough

I got you. When I ordered my truck, I went with the biggest gear ratio they offered at the time. Yes, I contacted Bilstein and they provided me the part number, to order the right rear shock. I went on eBay and ordered it for around $175 shipped. I knew I was going to lift my truck, prior to leveling it, so I went ahead and got the rear shock to allow me to just swap them out.

Please help. My knowledge on lifts is very limited. Would you recommend a 4.5 inch lift or a 6 inch lift for mine? I have Bilstein 5100s on it, would I be able to keep them?

-275/70r18 BFG K02 tires

-Bilstein 5100s 2.5 inch struts and matching rear shocks

-I had the OE wheels painted as close to the shade of gray on body paint

-I debadged the truck minus tailgate Bow tie

-Added black Z71 badges to doors and grille

-Bought OE illuminated bow tie package which comes with illuminated grille bow tie and regular black for tailgate

-I’ve had 2 front end collisions so I had body shop swap the lower chrome mustache to the black one

-Took off the lower valance 2inch air dam

-20 percent window tint in front to match factory rears

-Windshield tint bra

-Added an OE drivers grab handle

-Put on 4 inch black carbon running boards from Tyger
